Mummy Halloween Strawberries: Berry Spooky, Berry Yummy!

Hey there, fellow foodies! Halloween’s just around the corner, and do I have a treat for you! Let’s make Mummy Halloween Strawberries! Imagine plump, juicy strawberries all wrapped up like little mummies in neon green and white candy. Plus, don’t forget those cute lil’ mummy eyes made of black candy melts. Seriously, they’re as adorable as they are delish!

FAQs

What are candy melts?

Candy melts are like chocolate’s fun cousin! They come in all kinds of colors and they’re super easy to melt and mold.

Do I have to use neon green candy?

Nah, you can use any color you want! The neon green just gives it that creepy Halloween vibe.

Can I use chocolate instead of candy melts?

Totally! Just keep in mind that regular chocolate may not give you those vibrant colors.

These are super fun to make with kids. I made them with my daughter yesterday and she had a blast! They are the perfect addition to any Halloween Charcuterie board. (Full tutorial for an amazing Halloween Charcuterie Board here!)

Tips and Tricks

Dry those berries: Make sure your strawberries are super-dry so the candy sticks well.

Double Boiler Magic: Melt the candy melts using a double boiler so you don’t end up with a clumpy mess.

Piping Bag Hack: Don’t have a piping bag? No worries! Just snip the corner off a ziplock bag.

Variations

Fruity Mummies: Swap out strawberries for grapes or blueberries for tiny mummy treats.

Crazy Colors: Go wild with rainbow-colored mummy wraps.

Spooky Drizzles: Use orange candy melts for an extra layer of Halloween flair.

Where to Serve

These are perfect for Halloween parties, school treats, or just a fun October afternoon at home. Trust me, they’ll disappear faster than you can say “Boo!”

They best part about these is the fact that they look like mummy strawberries. For this recipe I used wilton candy melts — any halloween color would work. Orange, Purple, Black are my favorites.

Storage

These little mummies like it cool. Stick ’em in the fridge and they’ll be good for up to 2 days.

Common Problems and How to Avoid Them

Candy Won’t Stick: If your candy’s sliding off, your strawberries are probably too wet. Make sure to dry them well.

Messy Wraps: If your candy wraps look more like blobs than mummy wraps, let the candy cool a bit before piping. It’ll be easier to control.

Tips for Making this Halloween Strawberries Recipe with Kids

Safety First: Kids can help melt the candy melts in the microwave but make sure an adult handles the hot stuff.

Creative Time: Let the kiddos do the wrapping! It doesn’t have to be perfect to be cute.

Eyes On: Little ones will have a blast adding the mummy eyes, and it’s super easy for them to do.

Why This Recipe Works

Mummy Halloween Strawberries are the perfect mix of tasty and spooky. The juicy strawberries offer a burst of flavor against the sweet and colorful candy melts. Plus, it’s an interactive recipe, which means it’s fun to make and eat! The color contrast between the neon green, white, and black makes them pop, making them a feast for the eyes and the tummy. And hey, the kids can join in on the fun too.
