Weekly Wednesday Workout: Shimmy & Wine Oblique Move

So you guys already know that I love to have fun while I am working out right? So it was really interesting for me when I stumbled upon this strength training gem:

httpv://youtu.be/hubNRhNAtpo

An exercise that involves a little shimmy and wine of the hips? Yes, thank you. I mean you can speed this video up and all of a sudden its a reggae video! Seriously though, the lifts work the quads really well and the fact that her arms stay straight up the whole time really isolates the obliques (especially during the shimmying and the wining 🙂 If you can’t tell, I am so loving this move!

Would you try this Shimmy and Wine Oblique Move?

haha – I TOTALLY sped it up and played it backwards and forward. It’s a nice shimmy shimmy. I wish I could do it that fast. Anything to get rid of love handles. You and Joi find the best videos.

I’m going to try it but I can guarantee that there won’t be a video!!! Reminds me of last nights Zumba! I think the lift and lower and the back and forth I can do – those hip circles will be entertaining!!!

In my workouts lately I’ve been doing this thigh dance and it works, you can feel it. For added cardio burn (and fun) you can punch your fists down and then while the hips are going around in circles take those arms above you and make big circles. 🙂
