Weekly Wednesday Workout: Corkscrew Planks
Welcome to the Weekly Wednesday Workout! Today we are focusing on the core with some legs too!
Previously we have done Planks with leg lifts, Side Planks with Oblique Crunches, Plank Variations, & Plank Row with Dumbbells. How cool is this exercise? This is definitely not for the faint at heart. All that lifting and twisting can hurt something if you are not careful! What I like about it though is that its a nice twist on the traditional plank. When I do planks, the time just creeps by…although this variation is much tougher, I am at least moving around. 🙂

I don’t know if I would be coordinated enough to pull this move off! LOL!
ha I tried and tried and got it ONCE–that was good enough for me 🙂
I have never seen this version!!! I absolutely have to try this. Probably not a good one for class since someone could get hurt, but definitely one for my own workouts. Thanks Nellie!!!
yes I think you can do these pretty easily Allie!
Another one that I am not sure if would do more harm then good to my lovely, lower back. But thanks for sharing and have a great wEdnesday now!! 🙂
yes definitely stay away from these Janine!
Ive never screwed 🙂 but IM GAME to try!!
It’s a good one Carla!
They don’t look too hard but I have a feeling that is deceiving! I’ll give them a try!
they are crazy hard Michelle!
I’m adding this to my workout rotation. Regular planks just get so BORING!!!
I have such a hard time staying still for planks!
I’m a planking champ, but this might be more than I’m used to doing.
I want to try, though.
This is not for the faint at heart!
I’ve done a sorta variation of this, especially in yoga. Instead of dropping the knee coming into the chest to the floor, I bring it to the opposite shoulder and hover above the ground for an oblique twist. It’s tough!
its not easy at all!!
Tracey Anderson in the video. Sooo much controversy surrounding her. Great exercise, though.
Yes, its definitely a good one Josie!
Oh – I love this!! Definitely a new move for me! Can’t wait to give it a try!!
I will be looking for it for sure in the 44!!
These look so hard! Another great exercise in the series!
Thank Leslie! They are pretty tough!

You are totally welcome! 🙂
I don’t know whether it would be good for me to try this, with my history of back pain, but I can see how it would benefit the abs, glutes, and hamstrings, Nellie.
yes this is definitely not for you!! I definitely wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself!
