Allow cookie to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use a different type of cookie? A: Certainly, but Oreos are ideal due to their size and the ease with which they can be split apart and reassembled.
Q: Do I have to use food coloring? A: Food coloring is what gives the frosting its blue or pink color for the reveal, but it’s up to you how much or how little you use.
Q: Can I make these cookies vegan? A: Yes! Use vegan cream cheese for the filling and a vegan-friendly white chocolate for the coating.
Tips and Tricks
- Oreo splitting technique: Use a gentle twisting motion to separate the Oreo cookies. If they’re not coming apart easily, placing them in the refrigerator for a bit can help.
- Melting white chocolate: Always melt white chocolate slowly and gently to avoid it from seizing or burning. Using a double boiler is recommended.

Variations
Other Gender Reveal Treats: You can apply the same concept to cupcakes, cake pops, or even pinata cookies.
Colorful Coatings: You can use different colored candy melts instead of white chocolate to match your theme or decor.
What to Serve with It
These cookies are a dessert and party activity rolled into one! They pair wonderfully with other party foods like sandwiches, fruit trays, or light salads. For drinks, consider something refreshing and celebratory like a sparkling lemonade or a fruit punch.

Where to Serve
These cookies are perfect for a gender reveal party or baby shower. They can also be a fun treat for a family gathering where you want to share the exciting news.
Storage
Store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Make sure to keep them in a cool, dry area to prevent the white chocolate from melting.
