I am a creature of habit.
During the school year, I get up at quarter to 6 and get the kids out of the door by quarter to 7. I get myself ready and head to the gym for my daily dose of endorphins before I get my work day started. Pretty sweet set up right?
Except now it’s summertime. The boys are out of school and we are likely not doing a full summer camp because of extensive travel in August. So now, instead of a early morning beautiful run in the park I will be making breakfast and trying my best to entertain these two boys.
So what do I do?
I figured out a few ways I may be able to get my endorphin fix in the next few days…
- Early Morning/Late Nights at the gym: I may have to start hitting the gym at 5 am or 7 pm. Since my husband doesn’t leave for work until 7:30am I can sacrifice a little bit of sleep for some early morning endorphins. Similarly when he gets home, I can always head out for some late night fun at the gym (even though the evening hours are PEAK hours!) For my sanity, I’m willing to try it.
- Workout at home: I’m not quite the fan of working out at home because the boys are always all up in my space when I try! lol. If they are not trying to do cardio dance with me (which IS kinda cute) they are always asking me for something they can’t reach while I’m on my Maxtrainer. If I have to, I will, but it is definitely not my first option!
- Get a babysitter: It’s tough but I might ask my mom to come by and watch the kids for an hour while I go workout. She knows how overwhelming it can be to be cooped up in the house with the kids so hopefully she will have some kind of mercy on me! Besides, once her hour is over with her grandbabies, she gets to go home! (win/win!)

Getting a sitter heals my soul sometimes! The summer schedule is nuts right now and I'm still contemplating last minute camp admissions..

Oh I am right there with you living the dream! Our summer schedule is crazy and with a 4 year old and 13 mo old who still takes 2 naps I have to be SUPER creative and flexible. I plan out my weekly fitness schedule based on what we have going on and plan for the days I need help from hubby or grandma. Most workouts are at home- either during screen time or play time. If I need to do serious training it just has to be when my husband is home. I guess my biggest tips are to be flexible, give yourself a TON of grace and plan ahead! Nobody's workout routine is Instagram perfect lol

I work out at home. It's one of the reasons I don't want to join a gym I don't have time to go and by the time I am done with my work it's late. I may hire a personal fitness coach to work on my time though

I have started walking in the evenings with hubby, otherwise, I would be on the couch relaxing after a two-hour commute from work!

Having similar issues here as with heading to Disney in less than two weeks now, I also don't have my girls in any formal type camp. So, I have had to adjust my schedule accordingly, as well. But do appreciate any and all advice on this that I can get. We just have to do what we can I suppose though. But still appreciate knowing it isn't just me.
