FAQs:

1. Can I use a different cereal for this crispy treats recipe? Yes! While the original Rice Krispie cereal is classic, you can experiment with different food cereals like Fruity Pebbles for a fun twist.

2. What can I use to cut the Rice Krispie treats into school-themed shapes? Using a rectangular cookie cutter can help you make notebook shapes, while an apple-shaped cutter can be used for creating apple shapes. For school bus shapes, you can use a knife to carve out the design.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Melt the mini marshmallows on low heat to prevent them from burning.
  • Use a rubber spatula coated with a little bit of coconut oil to press the cereal mixture into the pan. This will keep it from sticking.
  • For the best way to store leftovers, keep them in an airtight container at room temperature.

Variations:

  • Peanut Butter Magic: Mix in some peanut butter with the melted marshmallows for a nutty flavor.
  • White Chocolate Wonder: Drizzle melted white chocolate over the top of each Rice Krispie treat.
  • Musical Treats: If your child is in the school play or a music teacher, like the fabulous Idina Menzel, is visiting, create musical note shapes with black candy melts.

Where to Serve:

These Rice Krispie treats are perfect for school treats! Pack them as an after-school snack, or take them to school parties and events like Teacher Appreciation Day. They are also great to serve during the first week of school to make it extra special.
