  2. Can I make these turnovers with homemade puff pastry? Yes, if you prefer to make your own puff pastry, feel free. Just be aware that it will be more time-consuming.

Air Fryer Strawberry Turnovers

Make a night out of making desserts in the air fryer with your family. Get out the air fryer and make a dessert like this. Once you make this dessert, you’ll want to make others too!

The first time you make a turnover in the air fryer will be the day your life changes. You’ll realize that maybe you don’t need to buy dessert, you can make it right from home!

Tips and Tricks

  1. Don’t overfill the turnovers. It can be tempting to add more filling, but too much can cause them to burst open during cooking.
  2. Use a pastry brush to apply a thin layer of egg wash on the turnovers before cooking. This gives them a beautiful golden-brown finish.
  3. Leave some space between each turnover in the air fryer. They puff up as they cook, and you don’t want them sticking together.

Variations

  1. Chocolate Strawberry Turnovers: Add a teaspoon of Nutella or a few chocolate chips to the strawberry filling for a chocolatey twist.
  2. Savory Turnovers: Swap the sweet filling for a savory one like cheese and spinach or chicken and mushrooms.
  3. Vegan Strawberry Turnovers: Use a dairy-free puff pastry and a plant-based milk for the wash to make these turnovers vegan-friendly.

Making Strawberry Turnovers

Have you ever thought about the process of making turnovers? Until I sat down and made them, I didn’t realize how easy it really was. I’m going to walk you through some of the ingredients I used for making this dessert.

Crescent dough sheets – Did you know that you can buy crescent dough sheets at the store? They are SO fun to cook with. You can even make danishes with them!

Strawberry filling – The really cool thing about using strawberry filling is that it’s interchangeable. This means you can add other types of filling in place of the strawberry. Of course, you can also use strawberry because it’s delicious.

Egg Wash– Perhaps the easiest part of this recipe is the “beaten egg.” It’ll help make the turnovers even more delicious.

Where to Serve

These Air Fryer Strawberry Turnovers make a wonderful dessert for any occasion. They’re perfect for brunches, potlucks, picnics, or as a sweet treat after dinner. They’re also a lovely surprise for Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day due to their pretty pink filling.

Storage

Cool the turnovers completely before storing them in an airtight container. They can be kept at room temperature for a couple of days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
