Making Strawberry Turnovers

Have you ever thought about the process of making turnovers? Until I sat down and made them, I didn’t realize how easy it really was. I’m going to walk you through some of the ingredients I used for making this dessert.

Crescent dough sheets – Did you know that you can buy crescent dough sheets at the store? They are SO fun to cook with. You can even make danishes with them!

Strawberry filling – The really cool thing about using strawberry filling is that it’s interchangeable. This means you can add other types of filling in place of the strawberry. Of course, you can also use strawberry because it’s delicious.

Egg Wash– Perhaps the easiest part of this recipe is the “beaten egg.” It’ll help make the turnovers even more delicious.

Ingredients

  • • 1 can Crescent Dough Sheets Sheets 1 large or 2 small sheets
  • • 1 20-oz Can strawberry pie filling
  • • 1 Large Egg beaten
  • • 2 tsp Water

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, lightly beat the egg with the water and set
    aside.

  2. Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheet(s) and cut into 8 rectangles. My sheet was already pre cut.
  3. Place approximately 2 tablespoons of filling onto one end of each rectangle.
  4. Brush the egg wash on the 3 edges of the pastry around the filling.
  5. Fold the other end of the rectangle over the filling and press all 3 edges with a fork to seal. Poke a few holes in the top of each turnover with the fork.
  6. Brush tops of the turnovers with the egg wash.

  7. Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick spray or line with a piece of parchment paper and place the turnovers in the basket.

  8. Set the air fryer to 320 degrees for 17 minutes. Place any turnovers that did not fit in the basket on a parchment lined baking sheet and set in the refrigerator until ready to bake.

  9. Remove the baked turnovers from the fryer and move them to a cooling rack. Proceed to bake second batch if you couldn't fit them all in your fryer.

  10. Serve
