A Quick & Brilliant Baking Tip + More From The Scotch Brand Open House
Every year I look forward to certain events, there is a short list of event that I actually LOOK for the invite in my inbox every year. One of them is the Scotch events. Something about the Scotch events makes me feel as if I am the most crafty mama on the block. I always love (and need) this type of encouragement so I was SO hype to get the invite this year.
The Scotch Brand Open House was full of awesome. It was held in this stunning event space that had several floors and a rooftop area that was just breathtaking. So of course, I went straight to the top then made my way down.
Next I met Alton DuLaney at the gift wrapping station. He gave me tons of ideas on how to wrap a gift for all types of occasions. I usually only think about gift wrapping in the terms of birthday and Christmas. He gave some great ideas on how to wrap gifts for everything else including baby showers, graduations, weddings and so much more!
Next, I went downstairs to the the baking section where there was an array of beautiful cupcakes. There I learned a SUPER easy way to make cupcake toppers.
All you have to do is …
Print out the design on regular paper,
Laminate it with the Scotch Laminator,
Put parchement paper on top,
Trace it with the piping bag filled with chocolate,
Put parchment paper in the freezer for 2-3 minutes and just like that you have really awesome cupcake toppers!!
Washi Tape Heaven
Next I made my way over to table filled with Washi tape. We were decorating beautiful small glass bottles with the wash of our choice. Scotch has some of the best washi tape designs I’ve seen in a while! They also have this beautiful extra large washi that I couldn’t get enough of!
I learned some really cool ways to use washi tape to distinguish moving boxes from one another! You can have one box of super important stuff taped in a totally different color so it doesn’t get lost in the pile–makes total sense right??
