Christmas Chex Mix
This Christmas Chex Mix is a festive, no-bake snack that’s perfect for the holidays—sweet, salty, and ridiculously easy to make. It’s the kind of treat that disappears fast, whether you’re gifting it, snacking during a movie, or filling up a holiday dessert board.

This recipe is my go-to for last-minute holiday gatherings or teacher gifts—it’s quick, colorful, and guaranteed to bring smiles. You get the perfect mix of crunch, sweetness, and a touch of salty goodness, all dressed up in red and green for the season. Plus, it’s a fun kitchen project for the kids since shaking a bag full of chocolate-covered cereal feels like a game.
Ingredients and Why They Work

Chex cereal gives the mix its signature crunch and acts as the perfect base for all the flavors to cling to. Cheerios add a lighter crunch and a nostalgic flavor that makes this snack extra addictive. Pretzels bring a salty balance to the sweetness and help keep things interesting in every bite. Red and green M&Ms add chocolatey goodness and that classic holiday pop of color. Red and green sprinkles make the mix look extra festive and fun—because the holidays deserve sparkle! White chocolate wafers are the glue that holds everything together, coating the cereal and pretzels in sweet, creamy perfection.
How to Make Christmas Chex Mix
Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper—this will make cleanup a breeze later. In a large gallon-sized freezer bag, add your Chex cereal, Cheerios, and pretzels. You’ll want a nice balance of textures here, so don’t overfill the bag.

Next, melt your white chocolate. Place the wafers in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 15-second intervals, stirring each time until the chocolate is completely smooth. Be patient—white chocolate burns quickly, and stirring often keeps it silky.
Once melted, pour the chocolate over your cereal mix in the bag. Seal the bag tightly and shake it like you mean it! The goal is to get everything evenly coated in that delicious white chocolate. Now add your M&Ms and sprinkles, then shake again to spread the holiday cheer evenly through the mix.

Pour the coated mix onto your parchment-lined baking sheet and spread it out in an even layer. Pop the tray in the fridge for about an hour, or until the chocolate has fully hardened. Once it’s set, break it apart into big chunks and get ready to snack—or pack it into cute jars and treat bags for easy edible gifts.

This Christmas Chex Mix has become one of my family’s favorite holiday traditions. Every December, my kids and I pull out the biggest mixing bag we can find and get to shaking. My youngest is the official “sprinkle boss,” and my oldest loves making sure every piece is fully coated in chocolate (and by “making sure,” I mean sneaking bites). We always end up with a mess of sprinkles everywhere—but it’s the kind of happy chaos that feels like the holidays.
