12 entire years ago was the first time I stepped foot on the beautiful island of St. Lucia. I had just a few hours spend so I chose an excursion that sounded the most exotic. It ended up being one of the coolest activities I have ever done.
Who knew that just over a decade later I’d come back to the island, explore MORE of the island AND visit the same place I did so long ago. Today I am sharing with you how to spend the most perfect day in St. Lucia.
Land and Sea Tour at The Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa
There are so many amazing things you can do for a perfect day in St. Lucia, but I highly recommend this itinerary because it truly was the most perfect day ever. When you stay at the Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa they offer this really cool Land and Sea Tour that takes you by boat to see some of the best attractions on the island.
All Inclusive Land and Sea Catamaran Tour
This full day land and sea journey sails from Laborie up the west coast of Saint Lucia to the town of Soufriere, home of the Majestic Pitons. The catamaran then heads to two swim stops along the coast of Soufriere. After this, a tasty buffet lunch is served at a local restaurant. While in Soufriere guests get a guided tour through the volcano or mud bath and beautiful Torraile Waterfall and then enjoy a scenic drive (45 minutes) back to your hotel.
The Land and Sea Tour provides you with a quick trip to the ocean where you board a beautiful catamaran to start your day on the sea. You are provided with refreshments and treats on board and you can choose to be inside or ride the waves at the top of the boat.
The scenery is incredible and if you want you can tan and relax or just take in the waves. If you get seasick be sure to take some dramamine one hour before. The water can get a little choppy in the beginning.
Snorkeling in Soufriere
During the first part of the tour you get to snorkel and see beautiful sea life. All of the snorkeling equipment is provided for you so you don’t have to worry about carrying your own. The boat pulls into a beautiful beach and you can have a guide with you if you don’t feel strong in the water as a snorkeler.
Bonus: If you have someone in the family like me who is not into snorkeling they can take the time to simply enjoy the beach and the ocean. Perfection.
View The World Famous Pitons From The Sea!

If you look real close you can see the world famous majestic #pitons from my ?! These gorgeous volcanic plugs are located on the southwestern part of the island. There is the “Gros Piton” and the “Petit” Piton. You can actually hike the Gros Piton! You can see the Pitons from land but if you really want to get the full effect, see it from the sea. It’s stunning. Truly. You can see all of this from the Land and Sea tour offered at @cbay_stlucia ? #stlucia #coconutbaystlucia #letherinspireyou #hosted
The pitons are volcanic plugs that you need to see at least once in your life, if you get to see this from the land…awesome…but if you really want to be in awe take a look from the boat. It is incredible!!
Lunch at The Beacon Restaurant
After we went snorkeling we pulled up to the beautiful town of Soufriere, we met our driver and drove to get lunch. The best part about the restaurant was the breath taking views of the entire island.
The food is good too! Pro tip: If you are looking to get engaged somewhere this would be the place to do it! The views are unmatched! So incredibly romantic.
Exploring the Toraille Waterfall
One of nature’s most amazing creations is a natural waterfall. On the southeast side of St. Lucia resides the Toraille Waterfall that has a drop of about 50 feet. The waterfall creates a natural pool that will cool you off on a hot island day.
Sulphur Springs Park
Remember when I talked about the one adventure that I came on during my honeymoon? This is it! Sulphur Springs. The most awesome part? They have upgraded the entire facility!
What is Sulphur Springs?
Sulphur Springs is an ACTUAL volcano! As a matter of fact, it is known as the “world’s only drive in volcano”. When you arrive inside the sulphur smell is pretty strong but you get used to it pretty quickly.
Don’t worry the volcano last erupted 200 years ago and actually houses a community in the vicinity.
You get to take a dip in the natural volcanic springs that has several different ranges of heat in the pool. It’s a really beautiful place that need it’s own post! (Stay tuned for that!)
Scenic Ride Back to Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa
Did you know that chocolate was made from this fruit???
As a part of the tour we were able as a really nice ride back to the resort. You can take some time to reflect on the day or take a nap after a day full of activity!
This was indeed the best itinerary to have a perfect day in St. Lucia. Stay tuned as I continue my series on Coconut Bay Beach Resort and share some more of the fun!
