Holiday eating is insane.

It really is a non stop eating craze that begins on Thanksgiving and ends squarely on December 31st. Right before all the resolutions come pouring in from everywhere,  vowing to lose those 20, 30 even 40 pounds in exactly 10 days.

For those of us that work in an office setting, the food is simply overwhelming. It’s been exactly a week into December and there have been 2 pies and a cake in the lunchroom for general consumption. We have clients that send over chocolate,  and every kind of treat you can imagine.

I personally have been totally guilty of falling for this holiday food craze. Last year I made 6 (SIX) different kinds of cookies just to see if I could do it. It was a crazy challenge imposed as a test of my baking skills. I brought all of them to work to share but not before leaving a stash for myself at home! No bueno!

United Health care has an awesome campaign called “We Dare You” and it’s all about making healthy decisions not only now, but in general for your overall health.

I am personally taking this holiday as a dare to make healthy decisions by committing to

  • Workout 5x a week
  • Resist the urge to eat all the yummy office snacks
  • Continue to log with MFP
  • Bake healthy
  • Remain vigilant on all food intake

  1. I totally already failed at this and just planning on doing what I do every year and that is to diet and workout once the new year hits. This always seems to work for me and truly not going to mess with it. But great challenge and figure this time of the year only rolls around once. Have a great weekend now, Nellie :)

  3. I accept the dare! I’ll be teaching all my classes just the same except I’ll be rocking Xmas tanks. I love bringing the spirit. Never thought about the office temptations. I work completely solo….that must be pretty tempting.

  4. I don’t know if I can do it..other than that I crave vegetables when I don’t eat enough of them so I am totally pairing my junk food with lean proteins and veggies. Always!
