I caught the blog flu!

So I caught the blog flu.
I’ve been reading everywhere about you guys not blogging, because of super busy lives, new homes, new babies (!) and such, and I sat back and watched this epidemic take over even my most dedicated of bloggers.
I blogged on Monday about ugly sleeping and next thing you know its Friday and I haven’t blogged at all!
I mean, I have all of these blog posts sitting in my head, begging to be written and yet the days are passing me by faster than I can keep up!
This week was one for the ages. I set a goal list on Monday because I was starting to feel like I had no structure as far as what needed to happen and what I was doing. While at church on Sunday one of the messages given was stop filling your life with the unnecessary, and concentrate on the things that matter. Your Spouse, Your Children, Your Home, Your Future. God will take care of the rest.
Somehow, twitter and real housewives of Atlanta was *not* on that list.
So I set forth with a really aggressive to-do list which included 4 hardcore workouts, organizing a specific area in my house that has gone unorganized for a dreadfully long period of time, and some other personal goals that I set for myself and my family.
Monday was good, I did most of the things on the list. It kept me focused which is something that I have been lacking. I’d be paying a bill, get an email, and all of a sudden I’m not paying the bills anymore. Smh!
When I logged into my computer I have my bad habits of going into twitter, then Facebook, then maybe twitter again (someone should do a study on social networks vs. cocaine…I’m sure they will have VERY interesting findings!) I found myself remembering my list and doing something on that list.
It is Friday now, and although, I have another day left, I have not nearly done what I set out to do. But I DID do some things that I have been pushing off forever. I call that progress. I plan on doing this every week (everyday if I have to) until the chaos is tamed a bit.
I have so many things I need want to blog about including:
  • ·         My recent book club meeting (We are reading 50 Shades of Grey, Can you say FIRE?!)
  • ·         I went to an awesome Olympic event in the city and got some cool pictures
  • ·         I have been to two new restaurants in the past week that I need to review
  • ·         Bye Bye Baby Weight update
  • ·         The Naked Cowboy (don’t ask)

In the meantime, have a very fabulous weekend.
How are you guys doing? Anyone else still got the blog flu?

  4. Sometimes it's just hard to fit the blogging in. No harm, no foul. It's certainly not as important as my son and husband, and family. I blog when I can and I don't do a very good job at blogging in advance then scheduling posts for later dates.

Ha ha – the "blogging flu!" I hadn't heard of that phrase but it's definitely rampant according to my Google Reader. I have over 100 draft posts and I seriously need to just write a book at this point. We've been out and about having a lot of fun and it sounds like you have too. Keeping to-do lists like that and checking them off is what keeps me motivated when I fall behind. Enjoy the rest of your week!
