How to Make a Wicked Movie Charcuterie Board

  1. Start by placing the brie on the lower right section of your board. This will become Glinda’s face. Scoop your guacamole into the empty brie container so Elphaba’s face matches the same size—line it with plastic wrap first to keep things neat.
  2. Build Elphaba’s look by arranging black grapes above the guacamole to form her iconic pointed hat. Add more black grapes below for her cape shape.
  3. Slice a curved piece of red bell pepper to create her smile and place it right on the guacamole. Add a tiny piece of black olive for each eye.
  4. Once her silhouette is clear, fill the remaining left side with green grapes to complete her face and background.
  5. Move over to Glinda: place salami around the bottom edge of the brie to form her dress. Save five slices for the collar.
  6. Fold those five slices into quarters and thread them onto toothpicks to create ruffled layers. Attach them around the top of the dress to form her collar.
  7. Cut another small red bell pepper smile and place it on the brie. Add two tiny olive pieces for her eyes.
  8. Using white cheddar, carve out a little hand and a short arm. Place the arm on the salami and the hand reaching gently toward the guacamole—because even witches need connection!
  9. Add cheddar cubes above her face for her hair, then gently pull apart a string cheese and lay the strands over the cubes for full Glinda glam.
  10. Insert the star toothpicks across the top to create her sparkling crown.
  11. Finally, fill the open top-right space with pink vanilla wafers to complete the good-witch section.
  12. Step back, admire your masterpiece, and enjoy every edible detail.

The first time I made this board, my kids stood there like I was building a tiny edible Broadway set. Every time I added another detail—Elphaba’s hat, Glinda’s crown—they reacted like it was opening night. My husband said, “Why is Glinda looking at me like she wants my snacks?” and honestly… fair. We ended up huddled around the board laughing, snacking, and quoting the movie until the grapes disappeared and someone asked, “So we’re making this again next weekend, right?”

Ingredients

  • 1 lb green grape grapes
  • 2 pounds black seedless grapes
  • 2 black olives
  • 1 package pink wafers
  • 8 ounces guacamole
  • 8 ounces Brie cheese
  • 1 lb white sharp cheddar
  • One string cheese
  • 8-10 star toothpicks
  • One red bell pepper
  • 15 slices of Italian dry salami

Instructions

  1. On your charcuterie board place your brie cheese in the middle to the right. Place guacamole in the brie cheese cardboard container. This way, the brie and guacamole are the exact same size. I like to line it with plastic wrap so the cardboard stays in tact.
  2. Add your black seedless grapes above the guacamole to shape her witches hat. Add your black seedless grapes for her cape.
  3. Cut your red bell pepper to resemble a smile.
  4. Place that on top of the guacamole.
  5. Once you have Elphaba’s hat and cape in place, add your green grapes to fill in the remaining left side.
  6. Add all of the salami (except 5) to the bottom of your brie cheese. Take five slices of salami and fold them into quarters string those folded quarters of salami through one or 2 toothpicks (depending on the size of your toothpick).
  7. Cut another piece of your red bell pepper to resemble a smile and place it on the brie cheese. Cut a small piece of your black olive and place it where her eyes should be.
  8. Using your white cheddar cheese, cut out her hand with a pairing knife. Next cut a small piece of white cheddar cheese for her arm. Place the arm on the salami, and her hands slightly touching the guacamole.
  9. Add your cheese cubes to her hair. Rip slices off of a string cheese gently lay those strips of string cheese over the cube cheese, resembling her blonde hair.
  10. Insert the star toothpicks into the cheese to form her crown.
  11. With the remaining top right section fill in that space with your pink vanilla wafers.
  12. And enjoy!
