This strawberry pina colada lava flow mocktail is so good for anytime! Made with fresh or frozen strawberries, pineapples and coconut, it’s a super tasty drink for anytime.
Summer drinks are the best
People love the cold weather for cold weather drinks that are amazing. I agree. HOWEVER, you have got to admit that summertime drinks are pretty great too! This Strawberry Basil Lemonade is one of my go-to recipes!
Sometimes though, you want something a little creamier, a little sweeter, with more texture. This is where this awesome Strawberry Pina Colada recipe comes into play. I first had one of these I think at Dallas BBQs here in NYC. If you have never been to BBQs they serve GIGANTIC drinks for a minimal price.
My favorite version of this drink is alcohol free because to be honest, the bitterness of the alcohol takes away from the sweetness of the coconut/pineapple/strawberry taste! It can be enjoyed both ways to be honest!
Summer Treat For Events
I can totally see this recipe being used for a girls night in, bbqs, 4th of July or any social gathering really. It can be made all year round too, all of the ingredients are super easy to grab. You likely had them in your freezer and pantry like we did!
Presentation Is Everything
The way you make this yummy drink isn’t by blending everything all together all at once. Nope! You start by blending the strawberries, placing it on the bottom of the glasses. WASHING the blender so that you can keep the color of the coconut and the pineapple, then pour over the strawberries for the most perfect blend.
When done it should look just like a lava flow! There is nothing hot about this drink, it’s just a delicious cool treat for a hot day (or even a cold one!)
