Ingredients and Why They’re in the Starting Lineup

Nutter Butter Cookies – The perfect football shape without you having to carve a single thing.
Chocolate Chips – Melty, rich goodness to coat your “footballs” in chocolate perfection.
Coconut Oil – Helps thin out the chocolate so your dunk game is strong and smooth.
White Chocolate Chips – For the “laces” that take these cookies from tasty to game-day-iconic.

How to Make Nutter Butter Football Cookies

Start by melting the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring after each round, until smooth. If the chocolate feels too thick, add a little coconut oil to make it silky. Dip each Nutter Butter cookie into the melted chocolate, then lift it out with a fork and gently tap the fork on the bowl’s edge to shake off extra chocolate. Place the coated cookies on parchment paper and let them set (a quick trip to the fridge makes this faster).

While those set, melt the white chocolate chips in a piping bag using 15-second microwave intervals, kneading between each one. Snip the tip of the bag and pipe laces onto the top of each cookie. Let the white chocolate harden, then serve them up to your very excited crowd.

My Football Sunday Tradition

Every football season in my house has two constants—yelling at the TV (in love, of course) and snacks that make everyone happy, even the non-football fans. The first time I made these Nutter Butter football cookies, my kids were more excited about “helping” than the actual game. My youngest even insisted on calling plays while we dipped cookies: “Hike, dunk, EAT!” Now, these cookies are a Sunday ritual whether we’re watching the NFL, college football, or even catching a WNBA playoff game.
