    Easy Lemon Poppyseed Scones Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 2 cup flours
    • ¼ cup white granulated sugar
    • ⅛ cup brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
    • 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
    • ¼ cup lemon juice
    • ¼ cup milk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • Topping before oven:
    • Extra Tablespoon of butter, melted
    • Extra white sugar
    • Frosting:
    • Lemon glaze

    Instructions

    1. Prep a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit.
    3. In a medium sized mixing bowl add the flour, brown sugar, white sugar, baking soda and baking powder together. Whisk until the dry ingredients are combined
    4. Add in the cubed butter and use clean hands to squeeze the butter and dry ingredients together to create a crumbly mixture
    5. Mix in the poppy seeds.
    6. Add in the egg, lemon juice, milk and vanilla extract, and mix together until a dough forms
    7. On a clean flat surface transfer the dough to it and form a round of the dough to about a 10x10 inch disc.
    8. Cut the dough into 6 equal pieces
    9. Transfer these 6 pieces to the prepared parchment covered baking sheet.
    10. Take the tablespoon of butter thats melted and brush each scone with it and sprinkle some white sugar on top.
