Easy Ingredients

Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza Ingredients

chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
garlic, minced
red, yellow Peppers
Onion, chopped
Olive oil
Bacon, cooked and chopped
Italian cheese blend
Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste

Ingredient notes

Chicken breasts (2-3, cut into bite-sized pieces): Cut them small and as uniform as you can manage — about an inch or so. Smaller pieces cook faster and more evenly in the skillet, which means less chance of ending up with some pieces done and others still pink in the middle. If you have leftover rotisserie chicken, that works too — skip the skillet step and go straight to topping the flatbread.

Garlic (1 clove, minced): Goes into the skillet with the chicken and peppers. Fresh minced garlic is better here than garlic powder since it actually cooks with the chicken and picks up flavor from the olive oil. If you only have powder, add about ¼ teaspoon directly to the chicken while it’s cooking.

Red and yellow peppers (¼ of each): Just a quarter of each — enough to add color and sweetness without overwhelming the flatbread. Slice them thin so they cook through in the same time as the chicken. Any color pepper works; red and yellow are sweeter than green, which is why they’re the call here.

Onion (¼, chopped): Same idea — a small amount to add background flavor. Dice it roughly the same size as the pepper pieces so everything cooks evenly.

Olive oil (3 tablespoons): Split between the skillet for cooking the chicken and a light drizzle on the flatbread before the toppings go on. The drizzle on the flatbread helps the base get a little crispy in the oven rather than staying soft and getting soggy under all the toppings.

Bacon (1 cup, cooked and chopped): Cook it until it’s fully crispy before it goes on the flatbread — soft bacon on a pizza doesn’t do what you want it to do texturally. Pre-cooked microwave bacon works fine if you want to skip the pan. Chop it into small pieces so it distributes evenly across the whole flatbread.

Italian cheese blend (2-3 cups): This gets split between a base layer directly on the flatbread and a final layer on top of all the toppings. The base layer melts into the flatbread and holds everything together; the top layer does the melty, bubbly, golden thing everyone wants from a pizza. Pre-shredded is fine here.

Baby spinach (about 1 cup): Goes on top of the chicken and bacon, right before the final cheese layer. It wilts down significantly in the oven so don’t worry about it looking like a lot before it goes in. If your family is suspicious of visible spinach, chop it first and it practically disappears under the melted cheese.

Italian seasoning (1 tablespoon): Sprinkle over the toppings before the final cheese layer goes on. It seasons the whole thing evenly without having to season each component separately.

Flatbread (1 package, store-bought): Stonefire, Flatout, or whatever your grocery store carries — most packages come with two large flatbreads, which is exactly what this recipe uses. The recipe card says to cut each one in half, which gives you four individual serving-sized pieces rather than two large ones. Either way works depending on how you want to serve it.

Ranch dressing: Goes on after baking, not before. Drizzle it over the finished pizza right before serving — adding it before the oven makes the flatbread soggy.

How to Make It

Start by preheating your oven to 400°F.

While that heats up, get your skillet going over medium-high heat with the olive oil. Once it’s hot, add the chicken pieces, minced garlic, diced peppers, and chopped onion all at once. Stir everything around and let it cook for about 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. You want the chicken fully cooked through — no pink inside. A quick way to check is to cut one of the bigger pieces with a spoon; if it goes through easily and looks done all the way, you’re good. The official target is 165°F internally if you have a thermometer handy. Pull the skillet off the heat and set it aside.

Lay your flatbreads out on a baking sheet. Give each one a light drizzle of olive oil — just enough to lightly coat the surface, not soak it.

Now build the layers. First, a thin, even layer of Italian cheese blend across the whole surface. Then the cooked chicken and peppers. Then the chopped bacon. Then the spinach on top of that. Finish with another layer of cheese over everything, then a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.

Slide it into the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes. You’re looking for fully melted, slightly bubbling cheese and flatbread edges that have gone golden and a little crispy. Keep an eye on it after the 10-minute mark — ovens vary and the difference between perfect and overdone on a thin flatbread is fast.

Pull it out and immediately drizzle ranch dressing over the top. Slice and serve while the cheese is still hot.
