Kids are insanely expensive. The amount of constant shopping that is involved makes my head spin. I am responsible for the shopping in the household so it is up to me to keep track of shoe sizes, clothing sizes and everything else. It’s not easy, especially when my oldest child goes through growth spurts that causes him to grow out sizes in a matter of weeks. Really, he was in size six pants for approximately 7 weeks before moving up a size.
As a mom we wear many hats, and head shopper (aka inventory management) is a huge responsibility. Every season usually finds me scrambling for new clothes, and new styles for the boys. Last weekend we took a quick trip to Dick’s Sporting Goods in Roosevelt Field to replace my son’s gym shoes that are worn OUT.
As we walked in, I was immediately distracted by all the gorgeous patterned leggings and athletic wear for women. You all know that I am a sucker for gorgeous workout gear and there was so much of that here! More on that later.
We went up to the second floor and found a pair of black sneakers for my eldest almost right away. My husband made sure he sized him first because, again, the incredible growing boy could have magically grown a size overnight. We were right, he was a solid size 2.
We walked around a bit and checked out the range of sports and equipment that Dick’s Sporting Goods had available…any sport you could think of from Tennis, Golf, Cycling–it was all at your fingertips.
We went back downstairs to take a closer look at the women’s section because: obsessed. I was not disappointed. I ended up in the Reebok section where they had tights buy one get one half off. Yes, thank you.
I bought a mix and match orange top that would match both bottoms. Plus, I’m happy to say that they pass the squat test. Once they are on, they don’t move–yet they are extremely comfortable.
While I was swooning over the patterns the boys found a basket of soccer balls and like normal children started to play with them, the loved them so much it was hard to leave them I added them to the pile.
My husband also jumped in the fun and he bought some underwear for himself and funny enough–he wouldn’t let me take a pic. 🙂
We purchased everything and I was good and resisted the go pro accessories that were on sale and skidaddled past the fitness watches and just like that the whole family walked out with something awesome!
I am so excited to host a $50 giveaway for a Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card so you can do all of your family shopping (or maybe some shopping for yourself ;))!
Do you do family shopping all at once? Are you the head shopper of the household?
