There is a crazy amount of excitement in the air because The Big Game is coming to the Big Apple! I am personally super excited because that means an unlimited amount of great events happening all around the city.

There are so many parties and cool things that are happening for the big game but if you are anything  like me (read: homebody) you will be having  your own fun party at home! You guys already know how much I love the commercials, plus you may remember how floored I was by last year’s halftime show. This year I am just excited to have a little mini party at my house with some fun goodies from Duane Reade.

To celebrate The Big Game,  Duane Reade is holding lots of different football themed events in store that includes giveaways, NFL star, games and more! I attended the event that was open to the public at the Duane Reade right around the corner from my job. When I arrived there were Duane Reade employees handing out free coffee (with sugar and cream!) and free gloves to folks in Times Square.

As soon as you walk in the main floor had been transformed into the perfect place to get all you needed for your perfect party for the big game! There were even actual stadium seats in the display!

When you walked down the center aisle, you were greeted by 2 referees that were managing a football quiz, and if you got ALL 10 of the trivia questions right you won tickets to the official big game party thrown by Bud Light!  (valued at $100 each!) I only got 6 out of 10 right (at least I passed, those questions were tough! Do you know how many championships Dan Marino has won? Hmm.) we were there to witness a winner though! He was so excited!

There were a bunch of keepsakes and memorable items that were available too. They are the perfect accessories for your big game party!

The party was so much fun and I look forward to a lot more parties in celebration of The Big Game!

Do you throw parties for The Big Game? Are you going somewhere special to watch? Are you going to watch at all? :)

  1. Have I told you how jealous I am of your big city life? All of that is so BEYOND cool!!! I cannot believe that guy won tickets!!! I’m seriously overly excited by the whole thing. You know happens at my local drug store? NOTHING! Oh wait…there’s a blood pressure machine. Ha ha! I love this. As for the game – we have a wedding in upstate NY on Saturday! Can you believe someone would plan their NY weeding on Super Bowl weekend??? CRAZY!! Needless to say, the hubs and I will be getting up early Sunday morning and racing home (6 hour drive!) so we can meet some friends for the big game. I’m stressing already.

  2. Looks like fun. I am truly not a huge football fan (that honor goes to my husband), but still it hasn’t escaped me the hugeness of the big game being here practically in our own backyards. So, very cool and love that you got to attend this. Looked like so much fun :)

  3. Looks like such fun! I miss Duane Reade – definitely none of that around here. (I love free coffee too)
We’ll be just back from Disney (weather permitting) on the day of the game. Usually Cassidy watches it and makes wings. I float in and out. Or I go to a party. My friend throws one nearly every year because it’s also always her son’s birthday. And Cassidy never comes with because he just likes to watch the game alone.
    I only watch the commercials…

  5. Wow. That looks awesome!! I’ve never thrown a football party. My hubs is not really a huge fan. We watch, but don’t get all crazy…unless we’re watching with folks. This year the superbowl is falling on my sons B-day. Maybe I’ll throw him a Superbowl themed party. Obviously I haven’t even started planning…

BTW, I’ve always thought Duane Reade was similar to our WalGreens. Then I see Walgreens on the football. Are they ownedby the same company?

  11. Wow, looks like so much fun for all the lovers in the world. I am not one of them. I don’t ever watch and if I’m off, I’ll attend the same party I go to every year and eat the food and socialize. Oddly, I’ve worked for like the last 4 or 5 Superbowl weekends. You think I care? LOL!

  13. I’m usually not into the SuperBowl but last year & this year I’m totally into it. My dh is a part of the half-time show crew so I’ll definitely be watching. My neighbors have a party so I need to plan what I’ll be bringing.

  17. Okay, so I’m in love with the white footballs. It’s getting my design wheels started…and we’re not even hosting a party this year! (who wants to deal with little kids up past their bedtime with school the next day? Not me, thank you) It would have been so amazing if you had won those tickets…but at least you tried!
