Every year the fabulous ladies at Momtrends hold an travel event that gives us the latest trends and lots of different ways to make travel easier. This year (the 6th year!) did not disappoint!
The event was held at Ivviva, a super stylish bright store located in the heart of Union Square. From the makers of LuLuLemon this store is a athletic wear store for young girls between 6-12 years old. The designs were so cute and amazing, I was actually kind of sad that the clothes weren’t in my size–actually maybe that’s a good thing because I would have bought the entire store with the 20% discount they offered us.

As my babies get older and much, much, much easier to handle–I’m looking to become a real traveling family, a family that tries at least one new place/state/country a year, and can not only travel but travel WELL. That’s the plan at least! Last year we visited Philly, DC, Florida and countless sights all over NYC. We already have TWO trips to Florida planned this year and I hope to add more soon!

This year we had a ton of fun vendors to check out including EBags who has recently expanded into selling athletic wear and travel accessories such as portable chargers and Birkenstocks. They still sell their signature bags as well including little pouches to help you keep the small things organized. Or in my case, a spare change of clothes for boys.

They also shared with us a new computerized card that you can put in your bag and track it by your phone. It’s insane!! So now you can find your bag with a quick check on your phone–isn’t that amazing? No more lost bags!! They are still in production but mannnnn when those babies come out I want one!!

Guardian repellent was also on hand sharing with us their non toxic mosquito repellant. They are DEET FREE and protects against most viruses that Mosquitos carry.

So many other great vendors such as Igloo, Hershey Park and Canyon Ranch whose body care products smelled so unbelievably good!

Finally it was presentation time and we got to learn some tips and tricks about family travel. The awesome folks at Family Fun Magazine shared these gems with us:
- The Hotel Hershey is the most popular hotel on the east coast
- Top Local historic site is Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island museum
- Most popular museum is The Strong Museum Of Play in Rochester
- Top family friendly city is Boston (I think this may be our next destination spot!)
We also heard about the top apps for family travel:

-
Mommy Nearest App – which is like a yelp for parents, giving you all of the family friendly restaurants/activities/information regardless of where you are!
-
TripIt App – Keeps all of your various reservations, tickets, confirmations ALL in one place for easy access!
-
Disney World App – (I told yall it’s pretty amazing)
-
Kid and Coe – The website and app provide family friendly vacation rentals — Think of it as an AirBNB for families!
-
Packpoint – PackPoint will organize what you need to pack based on length of travel, weather at your destination, and any activities planned during your trip–how many shirts do you need for the trip, are there laundry mats near by the hotel?
I actually won a beautiful bag, scarf and statement necklace from Talbots and I was over the moon because I absolutely love the classic style of Talbots.

The Husband uses TripIt for work travel, and he loves it. Definitely want to look into the Mommy Nearest App, as we're always looking for new things to do even in our own neck of the woods. Also, T would love those clothes. She needs that kind of stuff more often than I ever expected!

I love the idea of these apps. When baby twinkle is born, we plan on taking a trip as soon as the doctor approves it. Our goal is to take three trips a year starting next year.

I don't travel much but we will be starting. This year I am hoping to tackle North Carolina and Go on a cruise...as soon as I learn how to swim.
