How To Eliminate Frequent Grocery Shopping Trips With BJ’s Wholesale

If there is one constant thing that I am ALWAYS doing in this house it is SHOPPING. I used to think that moms were being dramatic when I’d hear stories of their children (particularly their sons) eating them out of house and home. I used to roll my eyes and think, there is no way it could be that bad.

But it is.

With Joshua (now 8) and Jacob (now 5) they are eating more food than I do. It is impressive but yet incredibly overwhelming because I am CONSTANTLY in the grocery store  buying the same snacks over and over because being in a house with three hungry men is NOT my idea of fun.

BJ’s Wholesale Club

I recently partnered with BJ’s Wholesale Club to see how I could figure out how to cut the constant grocery trips and also keep my kids happy and satisfied at the same time. The store that I have near me is huge and massive. I’d been here a few times prior with my mom, but I’d never been here on my own. I learned pretty quickly that this would be my favorite new spot. Here are some of the things that I purchased that will eliminate the need for me to go grocery shopping 3-4x a week.

  1. Snacks for school: The boys require snacks for school everyday. The get a snack for school and they get a snack as soon as we get home and get ready for homework. That is 4 snacks a day 5 days a week and the weekends are a snack free for all. I also need to make sure that the snack favorites (ritz bitz, goldfish, and yogurt) are ALWAYS in stock in my home to cause the least bit of drama possible. At BJs I was able to get huge boxes of snack sized treats for my kids–I haven’t heard a peep about running out of snacks since.
  2. Fruits: The kids generally eat breakfast at school in the morning since their school day starts at 7am. However, I always give them a morning snack which is some sort of fruit (grapes, clementines, strawberries or apples). BJ’s Wholesale sells the grapes in huge packages and since they are super fresh it can last a whole week of school! It’s also clementine season so I picked up a few boxes because they are my personal fav. 🙂
  3. Frozen: So you guys know that I have been doing a lot of smoothies lately but sometimes, I run out of the frozen fruit really fast! BJ’s has huge 5lb bags of frozen fruit in any kind of variety that I needed. I think I have enough fruit for smoothies for the next few months!
  4. Toiletries: This one is major. I simply cannot have enough toilet paper in my house! It is mind boggling how fast it runs out. At Bj’s they sell the huge 36 count toilet paper rolls which should do a fantastic job of holing me down for a week. 🙂

In addition to all of the every day necessities, they also have everything you would ever need for parties. Party sandwich platters, appetizers, personalized cakes and so much more. They actually have everything you would ever need to throw a really awesome party without lifting a finger.

I will be hanging out at BJ’s Wholesale Club more often because I simply don’t have the time (or the patience) to end up at the grocery store 3-4x a week. Plus, these boys are getting bigger and bigger I need to stay AHEAD of their insane appetites for a peaceful satiated household. 🙂

We actually joined a wholesale club before the boys were born but I didn’t end up using it because, two newborns. However, you make an EXCELLENT point and I am always at the grocery store and absolutely loathe it! I may need to revisit this for the school snacks and drinks alone!!

We actually belong to Costco out here and I agree when I need to buy in bulk for an event or just to keep my grocery trips down buying wholesale really does help with this. So, couldn’t agree more 🙂

I go to boxed wholesale online but I do miss that I can’t buy my meats from them so BJ is worth looking at. I have one by me to so I will check them out because that is the only thing I don’t like about boxed.

We have two near us! One is really crowded and one is really mellow. I got a membership last year and I’ve never looked back!

I had a free BJs membership for 1 year and it was cool. i liked the selection, pricing, acceptance of store&manufacturer coupons, as well as credit cards. ultimately i decided not to renew. I’m a deal seeker so sometimes it is worth the extra time to save as much as i do

OMG I need to start doing bulk shopping but… no car… basically I’m at the local grocery store EVERY DAY filling up the basket of our double stroller, ughhhhh!! Also, that lobster ravioli looks amazing! YUM!

Every now and then I think it’d be a smart idea to head to BJs for a membership. This is twisting my virtual arm and making me think I really should!
