  • Ingredients
  • 12 Square Shaped Prebaked Cookies
  • 1/3 cup white Royal Icing, flood consistency
  • 1/4 cup black royal icing, flood consistency
  • 2 tbsp red icing, flood consistency

Instructions

  1. Outline the face with white icing.
  2. Flood in the center and set aside to dry for 20 mins.
  3. If working on multiple faces at once, finish them all and then come back to it for the next step.
  4. Outline the area for the hat in black frosting.
  5. Fill in the area, applying Even pressure and use a toothpick or scribe tool to help move the icing around. Allow icing to dry for 20 to 30 minutes
  6. At this point you should be able to add the eyes and a mouth on the face.
  7. Add three red dots onto The hat and create the face allow the cookies to dry for a minimum of 6 to 8 hours.

Notes

If you are not comfortable using a tipless bag, then use a regular piping, coupler and size 2 piping tip to create this design.

If making a lot of cookies and bagging them allows the cookies to dry for 8 to 10 hours. If it is raining are you live in a very humid climate allow the cookies to drive for up to 12 hours.

The only way to reduce drying time on royal icing cookies is to use a dehydrator that is fitted with a dehydrator met so that the cookies do not dry out and get hard on the bottom.
