I totally knew it was coming.
It’s kind of like that weather forecaster that knows an intense hurricane is coming and then somehow gets surprised when they get blown across town by the strong winds?? Yes. That is what these holiday parties are doing to me!
So Saturday was the baby’s birthday party, but I will save that story for later because that deserves 300 words all to its own. 🙂
However, there was junk food (and healthy food) but I ate a lot of the junk food 🙂 there was pizza and cake and ice cream and really it was a miracle I stayed within my allotted calories — it really wasn’t a miracle at all. I burned 606 calories teaching Zumba that morning. Call it a Zumba miracle.
Then Sunday comes and so does that crazy monthly aunt that makes me eat like a vacuum. I also had my church staff dinner which is located downtown at the Marriott. The food has never disappointed me and let me tell y’all it was so insanely good.
But before I get into that can I get two claps for this jacket that barely fit and didn’t close when I attended this event in May, but now fits and closes super comfortably?! (NSV!)
As a part if my strategy, I did manage to fill my plate up with salad which was actually pretty yummy! But there was also a small amount of rice, fingerling potatoes and short rib that was out of this world.
Whew! That is a lot of crazy eating for the weekend. But I am happy to say that exercise saved the day! I am so ready to get back to normal this week. (If normal includes the company holiday party! Oy vey.)
