DVR Overload, Greek Yogurt & Social Media Done Gone Crazy.

It’s Saturday people! We are halfway through with NaBloPoMo and going strong! It’s been a while since we discussed absolutely random items,  so bump the deep blog post and let’s chat it up shall we?

DVR

I think my DVR is going explode soon. I am backed up on my favorite shows like Grey’s Anatomy & Survivor all these new episodes are killing me! You guys already know how I love my TV so having all of these episodes on my DVR begging to be watched is just crazy! Not to mention some of my favorite shows I haven’t seen *all* season like New Girl and Mindy Project–oh well there is always on demand.  Do you keep up with all your favorite shows?  Please share how!

Trainer drama

So I returned to that gym location for the first time since the situation. I can admit to you guys that I was completely nervous but strong in my position. I spoke to one of my old college guy friends that works as a PT for the same family of gyms.  He asked me a simple question, he wanted to know if I talked to my trainer.  I didn’t.

So I pulled my trainer to the side and told him the story.  He was extremely compassionate and he understood why I was upset. He made it clear that the group fitness manager should not be hovering so much and that the most important relationship is between him and I. I feel so much better about the situation.  So I am happy to say the situation is over.

Greek Yogurt

I’ll admit it.  I tried Greek yogurt about a year ago and I hated it. I love yogurt in general so I was surprised that I was so disgusted with this Greek yogurt that was so good for you. It was disappointing but like chicken,  I refused to eat it.

However,  lately I have been counting calories and try to figure out how on earth to fit more protein in my diet. I decided to give it another try. It was so good! Now I get it! I am convinced the one I ate before was bad/expired or something! This is healthy snack I can get behind!

Social Media gone wild

e-card-0062

I have a love/hate relationship with social media. I feel like I could write books on the crazy that happens daily on all the networks. I feel like lately the crazy has turned up like 2 notches! Between all the folks asking me to check out their stuff,  to the crazy drama,  it gets pretty hectic sometimes. Since this blog has become a legit business for me, I have accept the good with the bad.  But BABY! sometimes I see somethings on these internets that make me go:

How do you avoid social media drama? Are you staying up to date with all of your favorite shows?

  1. Nellie, I use my Blog Facebook page more then my personal just because I can’t deal with the drama and do so much agree with you on this. But like you I just try my best to ignore as much of the craziness on there as I can. As for my DVR, I was doing good up until about a week or two ago, but now I quite a few shows to catch up on and not enough hours in the day I suppose. And lastly, I am so happy you got to the bottom of it at your gym and talked to your trainer, because I truly agree that the manager should not be lurking or as involved by any means.

  2. I do not “watch” tv. It is on but that’s about it. I don’t pay for cable much less a DVR. Not saying I haven’t in the past but I found that it just sucked too much attention from me and the rest of the family. However, we do have Netflix so and the fastest internet speed we can possibly get out here so it’s not like it’s really helped us focus on each other. LOL!

I tend to ignore anything but Twitter. I’m not a huge fan of Facebook. I’m trying but I’m just not getting there. I also haven’t found the time to really do what I need to do with Google+ yet. I’m trying but Twitter and Pinterest keep me pretty busy. I’m wondering what people are asking you to check out.

    • yeah you know my feelings about FB, it is so so crazy. Google plus is fun, different but fun. I need to allocate more time there as well!

  3. Glad the drama is over. My DVR is so full too. I have been pretty busy and when I do find the time the toddle wants to control whats on lol. I just bought my first pack of greet yogurt. I never really know about the differences.

  4. I hope on the treadmill and catch up on DVR shows – I feel much more productive that way and it helps me stay at least semi-caught up!!!
And, I’ve gotten to the point that I skim FB and twitter but that’s about it – I don’t have time or energy for lots of excess drama!!

  5. Congrats on a successful NABloPoMo so far.

I actually use the DVR at my moms house. My sister and I tape Greys, Hostages, American Horror Story & Drop Dead Diva. We are laggin behind on a few shows but caught up on AHS. Thank goodness for the DVR!

Glad you spoke to your trainer, that other guy was out of line! He was super shady being a salesman and taking to you about your progress. whatever!

I have no advice for the social media stuff some stuf put out there is cray-cray! I just ignore the crazy.

    Have a wonderful weekend love!!!

  6. I love that video clip! Sometimes it’s hard to avoid the social media drama but usually closing my phone or laptop works pretty well:-)
So glad to hear you resolved the situation with your trainer. You must feel so relived!
And I love, love, love greek yogurt AND I just read on someone’s blog (or Twitter?) that they now have greek yogurt cream cheese!! I cannot wait to try it. Now go watch some TV!

  7. I try to use Netflix to catch up on shows but I usually don’t. If I miss it, It’s hard to find the time to catch up on them. Facebook is sometimes drama central. I try to ignore it or just stay off it.

  8. I am not into drama on Facebook or in real life! I don’t understand why people feel the need to plaster their grievances all over Facebook for the world to see!

  9. Nellie, where do you find those GIFs? They are so apropos, and hilarious to boot! I’m with you re: all the crazy stuff on social media. I have to DFC: decrease frequency of contact!

Glad you are in a better place re: the gym situation. That was a pain in the glutes, no? (pun intended).

Girl, get me to the Greek! I am a huge fan of Greek yogurt. I cut out the regular yogurts about two years ago and haven’t looked back. Way too much sugar, and the lite versions contain aspartame. Giant supermarket has a special on Fage Greek yogurt this week: 10 for $1 each. Bliss!

  10. I never talk about politics or religion on Facebook, and I don’t comment on posts that do! Some of those people who argue all day have a little too much time on their hands! So I keep drama-free. I generally post positive status updates under my personal profile. If I’m quiet, generally I’m in a bad mood or just not around! People have tended to notice that. Once in awhile, I do complain, though. Oops! I try to keep it real.
Greek yogurt can be disgusting! I think it’s a matter of finding the right one!
And it’s hard for me to keep up on the DVR. I’d love to hear how!

    • yes politics and religion are so HOT on fb I just avoid them altogether. The DVR is crazy but looks like I will have sometime over the TG weekend to clean er out! :)

  11. Woohoo! Halfway through NaBloPoMo!!! I’m dying….
Glad the trainer drama is over!!
I was so behind on my DVR’d shows, that i just erased them all. I was never going to catch up, And I figured if I hadn’t watched a show in 4 weeks, i really didn’t need to watch it!
Ahh Facebook. I have a love hate relationship with it. On the one hand, I feel like I need it for my bloggy world to keep up with things. But it is full of soooo much drama. And twitter too! SMH. I’ve had to filter my twitter page because I couldn’t get to see who I wanted to for all of the drama!

    • girl 12 days left, I am through. LOL Hold on its almost over!! I think the only reason why I have fb is for my fb fans…THATS IT!

  12. I love Greek yogurt! As far as the drama goes, I don’t generally write about anything too controversial…sometimes I’ll comment but not ever in a nasty tone. I wonder sometimes if there is ever something that will get me so upset that I will feel I need to speak up, but once something is online, you open yourself up to the world. And people aren’t always nice. I refrain from commenting when I disagree with someone or I comment in a way that is not negative towards them, but we’ve all seen examples of people who think online is a forum where anything goes and say things that they would probably never say out loud, esp if they can hide behind an anonymous profile. Scary…

    • I agree, people take things out of context SO easily!! I try not to get caught in the fray but casually browsing sometimes makes me see things I really don’t want to!

  13. I keep it simple – I suck at social media – so problem solved. Lol! I really can’t find the time, and I have to prioritize – right? There is a season for everything…right now may not be it. DVR – I only record a handful of shows and miss out on the others:( I’m so boring. My solution to everything it seems is to just avoid!!

  14. If it weren’t for Netflix I def would not be able to keep up with my shoes.

Glad the situation at the gym is worked out and that your trainer agreed with you!

Oh boy, social media can be so crazy sometimes. I tend to ignore or avoid by not being on all social networks actively.

Hmm, I should try Greek yogurt. I hate yogurt on a whole so never thought to try Greek yogurt.

  15. Shows * not shoes, lol.

  16. Drama!? Ha, I don’t have time to pay attention to it. I’m too busy trying to keep up with all my shows, work and not fall too behind on my own posts! :) I have DVR marathons personally.

  17. We don’t have a DVR. The only current show I keep up with is Scandal, other than that I, basically, just watch HGTV, Disney and shows from the /80s and 90s.
As for social media, I’m so thankful for the “hide” comments and people function on FB!!
