(Black) Friday Fitness Check In: #turkeyburn Recap & Deceptive Mirrors

Hey guys! Hope you had a fantastic turkey day. I ate a lot of my moms and aunts good food and I won’t lie, it was delicious. It was so worth the wait. We only eat like this on Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving so I was SO here for the Jamaican feast!

The turkey burn was a huge success! I love teaching Zumba on regular Saturdays but there is something extra special about having your friends and family come out to have some Zumba fun!

I had over 20 women show up to WORK! Including two of my favorite girlfriends that also happen to be bloggers Kim and Cass!

You can check out Cass’ recap here & Kim’s recap here.

I had old friends,  high school peeps, friend of friends,  siblings,  so many awesome ladies that worked the mess out of this turkey burn :) I even had a few ask for some of the boot camp moves to be permanent post class.  YES!

According to my polar I burned over 1000 calories with this extended workout,  I wasn’t surprised the adrenaline was crazy, it actually reminded me of the exact way I felt when I taught at fitbloggin last summer.

I am feeling really good about what is happening with my continued weight loss. The weird part though? I totally can’t see it. I have lost over 9 pounds in 8 weeks and I can’t see it. Some days I’m like oh my gosh, look at me, other days I’m like “this can’t be life, seriously WHERE is the weight loss?!” Meanwhile, I am fitting into old suits, everything is getting looser, even my gym clothes are looking better. I never thought I’d say this but the scale is my motivation right now! It is the only place where I seeing consistency,  I hope that changes soon!

I lost another 1.8 pounds this week–which I am pretty sure had a lot to do with the #turkeyburn where I burned over 1k calories in 90 minutes (cray!). I am very very happy with this week’s weigh in, especially considering that it is a holiday week.

My initial goal is only 7.1 pounds away. I really can’t believe that it took me over 2 years to finally get it right. Goal is so close I can taste it. If I only lose a pound for the next 12 weeks (been averaging a 1.5 loss every week), I will be at pre-pregnancy weight!! #ready.

How was your Thanksgiving? Don’t forget to check in and let me know how your eating and fitness went for the week!

Okay…you’ve lost over 9 pounds in 8 weeks? Girl, that is AMAZING!!! On your tiny frame, 9 pounds is SO MUCH! Since all of your clothes are fitting better, that’s totally where it’s going. I’m so proud of you. Some day I hope I can type that I am only 7 pounds away from my goal! I know it’s taken awhile but MAN how good that will feel for you!! It actually makes me tear up. 4. Wow! 1,000 calories – you rock. And if the scale is consistent, it sure isn’t lying to you!
I have to admit – last night I was sneaking cheese slices and pecan pie bites. Late at night! I performed every “no no” in existence with how I ate yesterday. Lots of butter, gravy, whipped cream, etc. Today is a new day, right?!

  8. I was really proud of myself on Thanksgiving. I didn’t over eat and I did my breakfast shake and didn’t wait around all day like I usually do.

I enjoyed all the recaps from last weekend. That was so awesome that they came out to support. Congrats on the loss!
