Whew, so this week was tough. Last Saturday I completed my long run of 8 miles on the treadmill in Philadelphia while I was there for Women Get Social. It was hard, but I got through it with the help re-watching of the movie Temptation and the strong WIFI! Netflix and I go together.
My other two runs? Not so good. On Tuesday I ran an okay 4 training miles but somehow I thought I’d do a little better because it was cool outside and I was properly hydrated and rested. It wasn’t bad and it was actually better than a lot of my last couple of runs so I will take it. Thursdays run? Stunk up the joint. I started out really well, but after I heard my first miles time I was SO annoyed that it wasn’t faster that it took my head out of the game. I actually walked the mile back home. No excuses but this week has been so hard with fashion week events, a severe uptick at day job and trying to get a Kindergartner on the school bus by 6:40am. I am praying that this little funk will pass as my first big race (and there are many) is next Sunday.
Run 10 Feed 10
I am so excited to be sponsored by BUILT WITH CHOCOLATE MILK for the annual Run 10 Feed 10 Race on the Hudson. It’s my first official 10k and I am SO excited for it! Me! Excited for a race!! I guess I can cross being a sponsored athlete off my bucket list! 🙂
My fueling wasn’t so bad this week. I have been eating the best I can, mostly staying away from tempting fancy Fashion Week appetizers and eating dinner at home. I know I need to do an overhaul of my eating and I really need to start the research into this. I want to fuel to be a better runner and I need to be equipped with the right knowledge for meal planning. I did try this little gem from Trader Joe’s: Fusilli with Vegetables and Basil Pesto. It was delish.
SUCH a cross training FAIL this week! I can’t believe it! Fashion week is just so much fun. They lure me with their pretty dresses and flashy shoes. I will do better next week–not too much because I want to be well rested for the race–but at least ONE day!
