Working full time and balancing this blogger life isn’t easy. Not that I plan to leave either one of them alone (because I don’t!) however sometimes you have to work extra hard to make fun things happen.
In this case, The Moms invited myself and my family to go to a screening of the How To Train Your Dragon 2 event. The not so easy part? It was a weekday and I had a day full of client meetings. What do I do? I beg gently ask my mom to bring my eldest boy to meet me in the city. I didn’t bring my two year old for many reasons but the main reason was the fact that he gets super fidgety in movie theaters, and managing the both of them in rush hour commuter traffic would be a nightmare. So it would be a solo date for me and the boy.
Both boys are huge fans of the first How To Train Your Dragon so it was a no brainer to take him. The event took place at Regal Cinemas in Union Square. When we arrived we were treated to a small drink–which looked a lot larger than small–so we opted for a water and a small popcorn on the house.
There was some wonderful Q&A with two of the characters from the movie. America Ferrera (I am such a superfan of The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants) and Kit Harrington (who plays a new character!) discussed the movie, production (took 3 years!), what it was like to do the movie (apparently it is all done in isolation – – who knew?!) and future and current roles (Kit has a HUGE role on Game of Thrones).
Finally it was time for the movie! We opened out 3D glasses and got into the movie! Except 20 minutes into it my son decided that he didn’t want to wear glasses anymore and he’d rather watch it blurry…smh.
How To Train Your Dragon 2 was a great movie that I would easily recommend! There was even a surprise romantic connection that almost had me teary! The violence was minimal and the message was great. Although my son had a few tantrums I was happy to get the one on one time with him! We took a bunch of selfies with Sasha:
