A Breakfast Fail and a Recovery.

So I’ve got about 30 minutes to blog so I will see what happens once I start typing ;)

This weekend in a continued celebration we took the kids out to breakfast and and a mini toy shopping spree for my eldest..

There was a pretty serious snow storm the day before but thankfully the weather was 100% better for our outing.

Instead of going to IHOP and waiting for 5 hours to get seated we decided to go to Applebees because it was easier and relatively cheaper. Unfortunately the food was so SO bad. My son loves pancakes in any form so he was in heaven, however the hubs and I were insanely underwhelmed… the eggs were cooked wrong..the potatoes were overly peppered and I won’t even get started on the bacon that was just gross. Oh well, maybe next time we try Ihop (despite the wait).

On another note, I think my epic week of fat feelings are finally over. When I entered the gym today I felt much lighter, I didn’t feel the gloom and doom I felt last week and to spare myself, I will not be weighing in tomorrow. Maybe it was PMS or whatever but I really was not “feeling” my weight loss journey last week. One thing that I know for sure is that there are going to be tough weeks, times were I just don’t feel like doing this anymore. The weight loss thing can be SO annoying, and hard, and did I mention annoying? They key however is to push through, for example, last week SUCKED motivation wise, but never once did I fall off the diet. I didn’t “eat my feelings” and I kept working out despite it all, until the funk ended.

On another note: I choreographed a new song for Zumba, and that makes me happy:

(PLEASE pardon the gratuitous skin and grinding and just hear the song! LOL)

(Okay, don’t judge me, I am AWARE of how horrible the video is, but dancing to this is freaking awesome, trust me!)

Have you ever had Applebees breakfast? Aren’t you happy when the sun finally starts to shine after a bad week?!

Do you like my new Zumba song? Because I do. A LOT.

  1. I didn’t know Applebee’s served breakfast but I’m not their biggest fan so I could have guessed the food was subpar. I am a fan of IHOP, but going there last wk I think started a series of eating escapades that led to me getting sick this wkd. anywho, the new Zumba song sounds like a great track. Enjoy that!

    • Yikes!! Yeah applebees doesn’t have the best food by far BUT in the name of convenience and no patience for Ihop we went. Womp. Thank you, I totally hope you didn’t get grossed out hahaha

  2. My kid kept begging me for Applebees breakfast, and I told him there was no such thing. LOL! Guess I was wrong. Hotel Transylvania is a cute movie. And so it Wreck It Ralph.

    • LOL yes there is such thing but avoid it, save the calories for someplace worth it! I Haven’t seen Wreck It Ralph but I want to!

  3. I don’t think that I’ve been to Applebee’s in over a year. The last meal I had was horrible. Don’t think they’ll see me for a while. You’ve got to post your new Zumba routine!

    • I’m trying to get a tripod set up in class because it looks much better with people than with me alone LOL my shy students are not having it!

  4. My husband flat out refuses to eat at Applebee’s even though there is one honestly only 2 minutes from our home. He hates it that much! ;)

  5. I never had an Applebees breakfast but I love (&hate) IHOP because what I really want is pancakes, biscuits, scrambled eggs, gravy…and what I can have is egg white omelette with veggies, toast, potatoes maybe splurge on a biscuit with no gravy…
Anyhow, keep motivated and push the feelings aside. You are doing AWESOME! Let’s lift each other up!(figuratively because literally I would give you a hernia ::smile::)
    LOVE your new Zumba song!

    • I know IHOP is brutal on the calories so we don’t go very often. You are doing so good girl I am taking my weight loss cues from you!

  6. I’ve never had breakfast at Applebee’s, only dinner. I’ve enjoyed my dinners there but I’ll be sure not to have breakfast there.

    Great pictures!

  7. I haven’t eaten voluntarily at Applebee’s since 2008. I dubbed it Crapplebee’s that day and haven’t set foot inside one since. I would have thought breakfast would have been the safest of all meals to eat there, though.

So glad you are out of your workout funk. Good for you for pushing through!! –Lisa

  10. I HATE Applebees with a passion for lunch/dinner because their menu AND service always sucks when I go! I don’t think they have breakfast at our local Applebee’s but I’m sure if they do, it would probably suck too! I do know one thing, I was craving pancakes like nobody’s business last week, and that picture just made me crave them again! LOL!

  11. I always read your blog from my Google Reader, so I forget how much I love your colors! :)

I am not a huge Applebees fan…I strongly prefer Fridays BUT I had no idea that they had breakfast. My chruch does breakfasts at the one by our house, but I have never been…thanks for the warning!

And I have got to get to one of your Zumba classes soon! I know you must have a FABULOUS class.

  12. No idea Applebees served breakfast. I haven’t been to too many big chain restaurants these days. I know all to well about not feeling the journey. Thats me every two weeks. Lol I like the song though…I miss Zumba.

  13. Didn’t know Applebees served breakfast either. Back in my college days, Applebees was the place. I haven’t eaten in either places in over 10 years (ok. did I just give my age? Yikes). Thank God your son isn’t picky and at least he was able to enjoy it!

  17. I, also, didn’t know they sold breakfast. I loved Applebee’s in college. It was decent food then and cheap, perfect for a broke students. I haven’t eaten at one in years.
I like your Zumba song. It reminds me of the songs on my Playstation Zumba game.
Keep pushing with your fitness goal.

A number of my blog readers have complained about my site not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome.
