How To Do A Tripod Plank

Looking for a fun variation on planks? Here is a twist on the classic ab workout: Tripod Plank. This time you add your legs into it!

Time to work those abs and legs! Check out the video below from the Fitness Youtube Channel for a great demonstration.

Did you know out of all of the MANY workouts I share on Brooklyn Active Mama, the planks are always the most popular?! I absolutely love this version.

Instead of doing a regular plank why not activate those legs too? Lifting each leg forces you to stay straight instead of making the common mistakes of arching your back or slumping too much while planking.

This serves as a great workout for the abs and it helps to tone the legs too!

Oh yeah baby! I’m ALL about the tripod and I work my abs in every way possible so they hold me upright at say the end of 26.2 miles!!!

You know I always think I’m so special when you post about planks – as if I’m the only one who does them! In truth, that’s the only exercise I do consistently! So I’m always up for variations. Even though.. ouch.
