Happy New Year! Welcome to the first Friday fitness check in post of the new year. I’ll be completely honest with you guys–my Christmas break was pretty awful. The kids were hard to manage (hello parenting) and I got some devastating news halfway through that just literally flipped me and has been putting me through the ringer ever since. As much as I would like to share, this situation falls squarely in the no share category. Just hold a good thought for my family, could you?
So I kinda knew that the last two weeks of the year would be so insane that I would either a) miss a lot of days out of the Jamie Eason program and/or not workout at all. I made an executive decision to pause the weightlifting program for 2 weeks until the new year. I still went to the gym but it was more on a freestyle basis rather than the rigid workouts of the plan.
NYE NYRR Midnight Run
So after hearing this news, I decided that I wanted to ring in the new year a little bit differently this year.
I'm running four miles in Central Park at midnight with my best friend to start off 2017. I'm so excited.

The race was fun! It was actually a bucket list race and I’m happy I signed up for it. I mean when else would you be able to run in Central Park at midnight unless you were running for your life? (Kidding…kinda)
The fireworks were just….wow. At the stroke of midnight the most beautiful fireworks display lit up the sky. Even after we started running the fireworks were STILL going strong.
The actual race was fun, it was manageably cold and of course with .25 left to go it started to sleet! I met the bestie at the finish line and we skidaddled onto a train quick fast!
Week 6 Jamie Eason
Monday: arms and 30 min cardio (elliptical)
Tuesday: chest and 30 min cardio (2 mile run)
Thursday: arms and 30 mincardio (elliptical)
Friday: shoulders and 30 min cardio (run)
Sunday: rest (finally!)
We have been having a great and super inspiring time in my facebook accountability/support group. The ladies in there are SO inspiring and I enjoy cheering them on daily!
I have to start training for the NYC Half soon — how that is all going to fit in with Jamie Eason? Not so sure. I just know that I need to start upping my miles REALLY quickly! The race is in 10 weeks! eek!
