That One Time I Went To Spin Class With Alyssa Milano

Last week I got to do two amazing things at the very same time: Spin at my favorite spinning studio in NYC, Peloton AND take a spinning class with one of my favorite actresses Alyssa Milano.

We were there to celebrate the release of the Alyssa Milano inspired line of NFL Gear! She has her own NFL Women’s Apparel line called the GIII Touch by Alyssa Milano catered to the stylish woman, and even has a maternity line! I totally want everything in the collection because she is just stunning (I mean, does she even age y’all?) and always has classic style!


When I walk into Peloton, I feel like I’m walking into home. It’s my favorite spin studio in NYC for a reason. They have the best classes, amenities, and I really love the atmosphere! This time the studio style was stepped up with tons of NFL props, and I’m pretty sure if I had a woman cave I’d decorate it just this way because football is everything.

Our instructor was the famous Jessica King so I knew we were in for a serious workout. Not to mention I ran 4 miles that same morning so it was a double workout for the day. I showed up ready to go!!

The class was nothing short of intense! It’s been a while since I’ve been to spin and it was especially hard for me to crank up the resistance that high but the payoff was totally worth it. We were all drenched and Jessica kept making references to how amazing Alyssa was during the class, and I simply stayed in the back and nodded in agreement, because she was telling the whole truth. #fangirl

After class I got to speak with a nutritionist and I asked her about her favorite post workout tips and here they are:

  • Eat within an hour of your workout
  • If you wait too long you won’t replenish glycogen stores
  • Calorie burn is pretty much never as high as you think it is so don’t use exercise as an excuse to eat what you want!
  • Be careful what you add to smoothies and be sure to calculate those calories as a meal
  • Keep a food journal, it doesn’t have to be fancy, just write everything down

These are two of my favorite things. Seriously. I’m a huge fan of Alyssa Milano and the NFL is my love. This could not be any better and I was so psyched for your when I saw the pics on Instagram!!!

That’s so fun! I love Alyssa Milano, I was sad when she left the show Mistresses. I haven’t been spinning indoors in ages, usually something I do in the fall and winter when the weather gets gross.

OK, I have a secret: I’m old and the whole spinning class thing was just starting to be a thing when I was in the thick of having 3 kids under 4, so I have never been to one! Must rectify. And I ADORE Alyssa Milano!

How awesome is all of this! I loved slammed up girlie sports paraphernalia. It was earlier this summer when I last joined my sister for 1 of her classes. It’s always a challenge and YES major sweat!

I love post-workout tips. When I first started, I wouldn’t be hungry for awhile and then I’d get FAMISHED. I knew that probably wasn’t right and that I should be replenishing fast.
Also, this is like a dream. I love her and she looks as fantastic as ever.

So much fun! Love the tips, too, especially the one about being careful with smoothies. It’s way too easy to turn them into glorified milkshakes.

I’ve never been to a spinning class before. But i’m a big fan of Alyssa since Charm. I usually use whey protein for post-workout. Does it count as a nutrition tip?
