A Life Update + A Scenic 7 Mile Two Bridge Training Run

What’s up friends?!

It’s been a while since I’ve written a bare your soul blog post. To be honest when things are hard , it makes it even more difficult for me to write about myself–it’s literally the opposite of what I want to do.

I mentioned a few times before that I’ve been dealing with a personal matter that has pretty much taken up all the space inside of me. It’s been a hard time, but I’ve been lucky to have really good friends and family help me through. Also, mindless TV helps a lot. I’ve also thrown myself headfirst in my biz so that has been distracting to say the least.

The boys have been an absolute handful, and even though I’ve been a work from home mom since last July I still haven’t mastered how to properly work AND be at the beck and call of these kids over Spring Break. It’s been very interesting to say the least. Event season has also turned all the way up in NYC so I’ve been hustling and bustling on that front as well.

Did I mention I went to Miami for the first time?

I went to Hispanicize! It was a super fun conference with fantastic brands. The only detraction was that some of the sessions were all in Spanish. I wasn’t mad but I likely won’t be going again–unless my Husband teaches me how to speak Spanish fluently in a year. (It hasn’t happened in 19 years so I won’t wait for that boat). It WAS great for networking and some really awesome brands were sponsors so all wasn’t lost. Plus–it was my FIRST TRIP TO MIAMI! Now I totally see what everyone loves so much about it!

Miami is super interesting! I traveled with my favorite conference buddy Kimberly and we were able to enjoy a bit of Miami after the conference hours. The first night we went to South Beach and I wasn’t ready. Why didn’t y’all tell me?! There was so much…skin. We went to Mangoes which was full of entertaining characters and yummy food. I absolutely love how tropical Miami is.

The next night we went to Versailles which is apparently has the best Cuban food outside of Cuba. Omg.  You know when you take a bit out of some good food and you know somebody grandma put their entire foot in it? Yes. That.

Brooklyn Half Training

Brooklyn Half Training has been going both good and bad. Good in the terms that I’ve been completing all the training runs but not so good because I’ve been slower than normal. I’m not super concerned about my pace because I don’t have any real goals for my first half of the year but to finish upright.

This weekend I had to attend a DR appointment in Williamsburg Brooklyn so I decided to arrive in my running gear and go straight to training afterwards. I ended up running TWO bridges (who am I?!). They were tough!! The incline was crazy!! I got them done though and I was super proud of myself afterwards!!

Thank you

Thank you guys for riding with me through all of this crazy. Don’t forget to hang out with me on Instagram/Instastories/Snapchat to get a first hand view of my unpredictable days! Not everything makes it all the way to the blog. 🙂

Aw, I get the craziness of juggling working from home, taking care of two kids and just life itself. So, totally feel your pain and wish I had some surefire method that would make it all perfect. But alas it is what it is and we can only just do the best we can. Hugs and here is to a bit less crazy week with the kids at least being back in school now.

That food and drink from Miami.. WHOA. I need it.
I’ve been there once or twice – driving through on my way out to Route 1 and Key West. I love when 95 stops. I don’t remember South Beach but I’ve heard the half naked rumors aren’t rumors!
