FFCI: New Motivation & Fitting In Workouts Despite the Holiday Crazy

Intro

This has been a WEEK! Like everyone  else the busy scale has turned up to about 100%! Maybe because I had such a busy weekend with the baby’s birthday and my church’s holiday party,  then a non stop week at work with meeting after meeting, presentations, then a holiday party that turned out to be pretty epic. Coming home late every at night.  Not to mention last minute shopping  and Christmas card mailings so late (don’t judge) it can be so insane!

I am happy to say that my fitness did not suffer at all from the crazy week. I knew the week would be busy and so I planned accordingly. As a matter of fact my workouts were 45 minutes exactly and I worked hard for every single minute. I have been doing some circuit training this week and it’s not easy,  but it burns the required amount of calories for weight-loss! Here are some examples I created:45minworkout

I am going to be doing more of these because a) it’s fun! And b) it’s nice to switch things up at the gym.

My food has leveled out since the weekend. I am back eating good food, fueling the muscles with good greens and protein (and fat too!). I even managed to stay within my calories all week despite some marathon meetings at work that made me want to raid the vending machine! My main goal hourly daily is to keep things balanced. I find that if I start the day with a decent breakfast and mid morning snack I do well for the rest of the day.

I feel extremely happy with what I was able to accomplish this week staying in my calories despite all the good food being hurled at me offered to me daily. I am also starting to notice how I feel after eating  something I know I have no business eating. Usually it’s sluggish, and tired. Not a fan!

I am super motivated to keep going though because 2014 is already going to be a huge year for me and it hasn’t even started yet! I have some things in the works and it is in my best interest to be in my best physical shape. So whenever I feel like I am done, don’t want to push in that workout, I remember 2014 and that gets me right up!

This week I lost another 0.5 pounds, last week I lost that pound I gained so if anyone is keeping count I am 6.4 pounds away from my first goal which is pretty darn exciting. I hope to lose at least one more by the end of the year, and be at goal by March. After that I will reevaluate where I want to go next!

  1. I put a fitbit on my Christmas list…so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Santa comes through. I want to see my steps…and my flights of stairs climbed, too!!
    Another 1/2 pound down!! AWESOME!! You are totally getting to your goal by March. I have no worries about that!! It’s practically a done deal!

    • Thanks Aqiyl! I adore my fitbit, it does track sleep but I’ve never tried it. Its great for steps and calories burned. When I wear a heart rate monitor the calories burned are almost always exactly the same.

  9. Great job!! I don’t gain weight easily, but I don’t lose it easily too. I really need a workout badly. I just had a very nice mixed greens salad with lots of lean proteins thrown in. Now I plan to ice-walk to the mailbox, carrying Des. How’s that?

  17. So far I’ve been pretty good about workouts, although they have been shorter than usual. But they have been a little more varied. In the past week, I have skiied, snowshoed and run. :)
