I had a really good 30th birthday. Like one if those days where you are hyper sensitive about those you love most in life. It was just amazing.
Let me just say I am one of those weirdos that is extremely shy about my birthday. When people ask me what I want I feel super awkward. When it comes to someone else’s birthday I am all for celebrating big, but when it comes to mine I’m all “who cares?!” Lol
When I got into work it was a nice surprise to find balloons and flowers all over my cube.
I love my co workers, they are my family. After working with them for almost 7 years how could I not?
Next I got a tweet from my total body instructor that sadly left my gym while I was on maternity leave…
As you can tell, I was not in the mood for alla dat on my birthday. Seriously. I had total body planned for another club and I really wasn’t about to run around and do insane body weight exercises until I collapse in the corner somewhere crying for my mommy. Except, somehow I couldn’t resist the crazy and I went anyway.
It was real. It was worst than the last time. Like a million times worse. I still can’t lift my arms over my head. Oy vey.
The whole time do you know the man was calling me Brooklyn Active Mama and making fun of my bootcamp post?! I can’t.
I totally forgot how insane
unrelenting mean angry tough he is. It was the perfect birthday gift however, the gift of fitness.
(I even asked him to do a monthly video series for us showing us some of his insane yet highly effective body weight exercises. Stay tuned!)
When I got back from work there were *more* birthday gifts:
I love edible arrangements! The toddler and I went to town!
Omg YES I’m going to see Marc Anthony at the Barclay. I am soo beyond stoked!! Since I started teaching Zumba, Marc Anthony has become my favorite artist on the planet! Turns out my hubby is actually LISTENING to me!! woot!
The night ended with the wonderful men in my life bringing me a slice of birthday cake.
Best. Birthday. Ever.
Are you a high or low key birthday person?
