What is Alfredo pizza made of?

A traditional Alfredo pizza is made with a white sauce, mozzarella cheese, and chicken. Some variations also include spinach or other vegetables.

Is white pizza sauce the same as Alfredo?

No, the two sauces are not the same. White pizza sauce is made with olive oil, garlic, and sometimes cheese, while Alfredo sauce is made with butter, cream, and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • Pizza Dough:
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110 degrees F)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons dry yeast

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • Alfredo Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cream
  • Pizza Assembly:
  • 2 cups cooked, chopped chicken breast (1-2 chicken breasts)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped spinach
  • ¼ cup cooked, crumbled bacon (about 2 slices)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. When ready to cook your pizza, preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. Pizza dough:
  3. Add to a large bowl your warm water, yeast, and sugar. Stir and mixed together. Allow your yeast to proof for about five minutes.
  4. After the five minutes, add in your flour, olive oil, and salt. Mix together until fully incorporated.
  5. Knead with the dough hook for about five minutes on medium speed if using a stand mixer. If using your hands, transfer the dough ball to a lightly floured flat surface and knead for about 10 minutes.
  6. Transfer your dough ball to your Instant Pot, lightly oiled on all surfaces your dough will touch. Cover and close your sealing valve. Turn your Instant Pot on to the yogurt setting for 1 hour. It should double in size.
  7. Sauce:
  8. In a medium saucepan, add your butter on medium heat. Once melted add in your garlic, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Whisk together and allow them to cook together for about one minute.
  9. Add your flower. Whisk well and cook for about two minutes.
  10. Add in your cream, continuously stirring for three minutes. The sauce will start to thicken. Remove from heat and set aside until you are ready to assemble your pizza.
  11. Pizza assembly:
  12. Once your doe has doubled in size, remove your doe ball to a lightly flower surface. Divide your ball into four sections.
  13. Roll your pizza using a rolling pin until it is 10 to 11 inches in diameter. Transfer your pizza dough to a cookie sheet, or pizza pan.
  14. Top your pizza with your Alfredo sauce, smearing evenly leading space on the edges for the crust.
  15. Add your chicken, spinach, and bacon. Top with your mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
  16. Repeat steps 2 to 4. Depending on the size of your cookie sheet, you might be able to fit two pizzas on the sheet.
  17. With your oven preheated to 425°F, place your pizza in the oven for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
  18. Slice your pizza and serve! Enjoy!
