Easy Christmas Cranberry Mimosa Holiday Drink

A super simple and gorgeous Christmas Cranberry Mimosa that everyone will love.  Made with your favorite sparking wine, fresh cranberries and fun sprinkles, it’s the perfect holiday drink!

The holidays are such a fun time to come up with new recipes. Something about the season makes me want to bake all of the things and eat all of the things. It’s no wonder January is so fitness focused!

Most of all though? I love pretty things during the holidays. Pretty, sparkly things from sweaters, to boots, and of course–drinks.

Similar to my Cotton Candy Mocktail, this Christmas cocktail is awesomely beautiful! My favorite type of wine is prosecco, so using this one was a no-brainer!

As a matter of fact, this drink would be perfect for a Hallmark movie or two.  A great option for Christmas Day and of course even New Years Day

Why This Recipe Works

  • Simplicity: With just four main ingredients, it’s quick to whip up but delivers a festive punch.
  • Versatility: Whether you opt for Prosecco, Champagne, or Cava, this mimosa is tailored for your preference.
  • Visual Appeal: The rich red of the cranberries and juice, coupled with the twinkling sprinkles, makes it a visual treat.

FAQs

  • Can I use frozen cranberries? Yes, frozen cranberries work just as well. They can also double as ice cubes, chilling your mimosa without diluting it.
  • What’s the best cranberry juice to use? 100% cranberry juice provides the best flavor, but a cranberry juice cocktail can also be used for a sweeter profile.

Tips & Tricks

  • Chill Everything: Ensure all your ingredients are well-chilled in advance for the best mimosa experience.
  • Balance is Key: For a well-balanced drink, a general guideline is one part cranberry juice to two parts Prosecco (or your bubbly of choice).
  • Sprinkle Technique: Dip the rim of your glass in a touch of cranberry juice, then into the sprinkles for a festive touch.

Variations

  • Tropical Twist: Swap cranberry juice for pineapple juice and add a dash of coconut cream.
  • Berries Galore: Use a blend of berry juices and toss in raspberries and blueberries for added depth.
  • Citrus Lift: Add a splash of orange or lime juice for a tangy kick.

Where to Serve

  • Breakfast or Brunch: Elevate your Christmas morning with a side of this delightful mimosa.
  • Dinner Parties: It’s a fantastic aperitif, setting a festive tone right from the start.
  • Cocktail Nights: This mimosa is sure to be a star at any holiday-themed cocktail evening.

Storage

  • Prepare your cranberry juice and chill your Prosecco or Champagne in advance, but always assemble the mimosa just before serving to maintain the bubbly’s effervescence.

Common Problems and How to Avoid Them

  • Flat Mimosa: Using a bubbly that’s not well-chilled or waiting too long after pouring can lead to a less effervescent drink. Always use chilled ingredients and serve immediately.
  • Overly Sweet: This can occur if a sweetened cranberry juice is used. Stick to 100% cranberry juice or adjust proportions to taste.

Topping Options

  • Herbal Touch: A sprig of rosemary or mint can enhance the drink’s freshness.
  • Citrus Zest: A touch of lemon, lime, or orange zest can give a delightful aroma.
  • Gold Foil: For that extra luxurious touch, sprinkle a tiny bit of edible gold foil on top.

Incorporate these suggestions, and your Christmas Mimosas will not only be a feast for the taste buds but also a toast to the eyes, encapsulating the festive spirit in a glass. Cheers!

Easy ingredients for an easy drink! If you want, you can leave out the alcohol and let the kids in on this fun drink too! Give them a fancy flute, sprinkles, and cranberries and they will love being a part of the fun!
