I had a pretty awesome Memorial Day Weekend–and because it was so perfect I HAD to blog about it! 🙂
Even though I went to work on Friday my brain was already in holiday mode. So to celebrate I invited my husband to a Shake Shack date a few blocks from our jobs. It’s nice to work so close to him for just this reason alone! Unfortunately the line for shake shack was SO long we just ended up hanging out/grabbing our food and going back to work. The time spent was awesome though because we never get date nights and we rarely have time alone. So it was like a mini date. <3
Friday evening we made our way down to Prospect Park for a very cute Mad Hatter Unbirthday party. We celebrated Scherrie’s middle child with a fun 3 and a half birthday party filled with arts and crafts, great food and a great big lawn to play. How cute are the cupcakes?!
The Dance Africa Bazaar took place this weekend and pretty much every single person descended on downtown Brooklyn so an amazing day of culture, food, fun and of course, friends.
My girl Scherrie from Thirty Mommy met us down there and we had a total of 6 kids and it was so much fun! From the awesome fresh made kettle corn popcorn to the beautiful African art and the FASHION! Incredible.
For lunch we went to a Brooklyn favorite: Habana Outpost for some yummy eats! Pretty good Cuban food and a great selection for my (oh so picky) kids.
Our Sunday included church, family visits and a fun photo shoot in the park for a really fun Athleta campaign coming up soon on the blog. We had so much fun racing each other and playing outdoors.
On Monday morning I got up early and met and old friend and the Black Girl for some miles along the west side highway. The weather was incredible and the views of the skyline were breathtaking. We ran a good 5.75 miles and was home before 11am. Perfecto!
It was the perfect weekend! Now it’s time to WORK! The A Healthy U Conference is this Saturday so if you see me running around with my head cut off you know why. I am so excited for the event though (not as a planner but just as an attendee!) We have a few left so get your tickets today!
