Hey! How was your weekend? I spent it doing a ton of cleaning and I managed to take the boys to the zoo 🙂
Last Memorial Day weekend we headed out to the county fair. Now although this is the 4th year of the Kings County fair, this is our first year in attendance! This fair is not quite a huge as those you see in the Midwest but it was nice and small yet big enough for us.
The Kings County fair was held at Aviator Sports in Brooklyn which is about 15 minutes away from home. The intent really was to take the kids wear them all the way out and have a good time.
The great thing about the fair was that they had an equal amount of kid rides and big people rides (aka rides I’d never get on! #wuss).
I love the ambiance of the fair, kids walking around with prizes they won, greasy food trucks galore, the smell of fresh popcorn–the fair is just begging for you to have fun!
We went on all the kiddie rides several times and although the general admission was an easy 5 bucks, the ride tickets is where you spent all your money! Some rides were 5 tickets, some were 3. At what averaged out to be 50 cents per tickets, things can get pretty expensive quick!
My personal favorite part was the butterfly tent. They were so beautiful it’s a shame that my kids thought the exact opposite and screamed bloody Mary whenever one got close to them. Oh well.
I was not as excited as the kids (or my husband) to visit the mini zoo. The kids got super excited to feed them, while I stood back praying that the cages were secured properly. (They were.)
Check out my mini video where you can watch some live action of the Kings County fair 🙂
