I can honestly say that this has probably been one of the best weeks I have had in a really long time! It was not perfect by any means but I am being super conscious of what I am eating and how much of it I am eating. What really helped me to stay focused (even on the weekend–something I never do!) was the fact that we made a trip to Trader Joes last Thursday and stocked up on some really great unprocessed (or way less processed) foods. Having healthy snacks available really is a benefit.

I am legitimately proud of myself this week…for once both things came together–good food week and a great workout week. I am hoping to stay on this trend by continuing to take it meal by meal. I think one of the things that always trip me up is that I look at the grand scheme of things rather than the fact that all I have to do is make a good decision on the very next meal. One by one. I really think this mindset is going to help me get these last 10 pounds or so.

5 times this week! I am so excited. Although I still may (positive thinking here people! 6 pounds is totally doable right?!) hit my fitbloggin goal in 2 weeks, I am working on gearing my body up for the actual fitbloggin workouts. Last year because I had to work, I got there a little late and missed the first round of workouts. I DID however catch the 2nd day (my epic Zumba class) and the (very entertaining) 5k  the next day, and baby I was SO done.

So I’m getting my body ready for a 3 day workout binge in 2 weeks! I have some intense workouts on deck at the conference including Zumba, Crossfit (my first one!), Jump Class on the Trampoline (a little scared, I can’t lie), a 5k and maybe (hopefully!!) some exploratory bike riding around Portland.

Also, I have a huge huge thing happening at Fitbloggin–so huge its consuming my brain every single day–but it’s a surprise–so I won’t talk about it. If you guess I will not confirm or deny but I may wink in agreement. For the two people I told you are NOT allowed to guess. :)

As a result I went extra hard in preparation this week. :) If you can’t tell, I am freaking over the moon in excitement for Fitbloggin:)

It’s time for you to check IN! How are your food/fitness goals coming along this week? Don’t forget to encourage EACH OTHER in the comments!

  2. I’m glad you had an awesome week! The exercise alone made my head spin, and Trader Joe’s is so great for a lot of good food at once. I had my son’s birthday, as you know, so cupcakes and cookies did happen. And today is the last day of school (even though Scarlet’s last day was Wednesday because she only goes three days a week) and there is a huge potluck picnic happening soon. Yikes! Happy a great weekend!
