I’ve started tracking again, and I have a separate post  in mind for this but it hasn’t been easy. This weight loss thing is so tricky where you have to find the right balance of good food and good workouts–I’m still seeking that balance. While I continue to get stronger and feed my inner athlete daily, the weight is not moving very much. It’s crazy because I started eating the SAME things I ate when I lost all the weight (plus an additional 20lbs) after my first son was born, and yet it is not quite working the way it used to.

So what now? I think I need to try something different, eating wise–I don’t eat chicken and I am allergic to seafood so that eliminates a lot of things/recipes that I find all over the place. I am also a crazy creature of habit, I eat the same things over and over till I am tired then I move on to something else. The time factor is enormous too because I get home @ 6 and by the time I get dinner on the table for the boys its borderline 7 and I still haven’t eaten much less started to cook. *sigh* I have a feeling once I figure it out, I will be golden.

There were a few solid days that I really didn’t feel like working out but I did it anyway. On those days specifically I went to social media for motivation and boy did I find it. Fitspiration is everywhere on the interwebs and I especially like to read about stories that are similar to mine, post babies, no times for anything–yet still found a way to make it happen.

I see shrinking, I feel shrinking, not at the pace that I want, but I am a work in progress. I’m doing some great things for my heart, and I totally know that I can out run the zombie apocalypse.

How is your fitness goals coming along this week?

  1. It is tough when your kids are small to fit fitness in, make healthy meals and basically do it all. I remember doing power walks with one in the pouch and one in the stroller, thank goodness those days are over – they do pass very quickly! (although it seems forever at the time.) Never heard of anyone being allergic to chicken – what about making a big pot of bean stew with veggies on a Sunday – you can eat it every evening for the rest of the week, full of protein. Or take it to work for lunch:)

    • Yes it does seem like forever! I am sure it will get better especially once the little once actually makes a commitment to solid foods. (and he gets more teeth) I am not allergic to chicken just seafood, I can’t stand the taste of it, and I’ve tried so many kinds! I love the idea of a bean soup, though, I am off to find a recipe!!

  2. I think you’re doing excellent! Me on the other end. I’m struggling. I need motivation badly. I have to start all over again. And I will.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. I’ve been searching the internet and blogs for new recipes. Some have been winners and others have tanked, but it’s eased the dinner rut. I plan meals for the week and grocery shop around those meals.
I worked out five days straight this week!! That’s the first time I’ve EVER done that. It’s also the most consistent I’ve been about exercise in years. I’m doing Jillian Micheal’s 30 day shred. I don’t have a lot of time and we don’t belong to a gym so those 20min workouts in the mornings are just what I need.
I haven’t started tracking calories again, either. So we’ll see.

    • Girl!! Jillian’s shred is NO JOKE! good for you for completing 5 days! Tracking the calories is annoying yet essential to loss.

  4. It will come off, it will just take some more time. I’ve started documenting my weight loss post baby so it should be fun.

It’s always the last10-15 pounds that is hard to lose. Just keep your eyes on the prize.

    • Yes you are right, I need to use your word “patience” I feel confident that it will and honestly the mental battle is the hardest part of all.

  5. I love the ecard. Too funny! Stopping by from SITS. : )

  6. I soooo know what you mean! It’s so hard to find that balance of the right foods and right exercise. I’m glad that you are seeing and feeling yourself shrinking! Hopefully that provides you with more motivation to keep going!

  7. I commend you for keeping up with staying active. I agree with the other posters, that fitting in good exercise time with little ones is hard… I’m now struggling with that.

  8. You hit it hard with the strength training after taking Monday off and Total Body today! Awesome week! Your eating obstacles do sound challenging but how are you with veggies. I like eating veggies only just because sometimes, and there are so many good ones to choose from, just a thought. bc you are right chicken and seafood dominate the weight loss world. We will you keep you uplifted as you continue to work it out. My fitness goals are fell short this week bc of a busy schedule and I only did weights once but no worries. Can’t beat ourselves up for a dip every now and then. Have a great weekend!

    • Yes, I have really begun to really love lifting again–I love my cardio but nothing beats the “strong” feeling. Chicken and Fish are ALL over the recipe blogs and so forth but thanks for keeping me uplifted, I have got to figure this out somehow. You are allowed to rest my dear, especially on your week off!!

  9. When I feel my inspiration lagging, I will think of the zombie apocalypse and that graphic! Hahaha. Hey, whatever works!!

  10. No seafood and chicken nooooooo. I am slowly getting rid of red meat and I read on pinterest that everyone should have 2 meatless days a week. I am going to strive for once a week we eat no meat around here see how it goes. Great job on your progress.

  11. I saw you on SITS! I just started being active in it. New to the game but anyway, congrats!
I really need to do cardio everyday so when I don’t make it to the gym, I plan to do jumping jacks and get out my jump rope. This all is a plan to start next week.
I posted a 3-cheese veggie lasagna meal on my blog last week that is sooooooo delicious. You have to check it out! Its now the way I make all my veggies, sauteed with cajun seasoning.
Go check it out and save it. You’ll love it when you make it. Sorry, that’s just one idea, haha.

    • Yay! Jump rope and jumping jacks are a good idea. My tuesday teacher makes us do jumping jacks for 2 minutes and I swear its the longest two minutes of my life. SMH. I will check out the recipe thanks for letting me know.

  12. My week was not as productive as I would have liked it to be. But you inspired me to also do a Friday Fitness Check-In, and I linked it back to you! :) Thanks for being such great inspiration!
