Welcome to the first Friday Fitness Check In of the year!!
Despite the impending snowstorm, I will manage to get my 5 workouts in for the week. I have been doing a lot of circuit trainings trying to keep the body guessing. I know I have been working hard because I have been SUPER sore this week! I even met a friend on New Years Day for a nice 90 minute workout which includes multiple machines and (gulp) squat jumps–which I have since concluded is *not* my favorite exercise. I am happy to say that I completed 30 of them, and after 10 I SO thought I was done! Here is an example of my Monday workout:
If anyone is ridiculously happy that the Holiday
Eating Season is over–its me!! As of New Years Day all of the holiday sweets/eats/yummies are OVER and GOOD RIDDANCE! I managed to somehow stay within my calories and I stayed entering every little bit on My Fitness Pal (Even when I didn’t want to! hello extra helping of rice and peas). This holiday season was definitely tougher than expected–the sugar monster came knocking a lot and I am so happy she is GONE!
I think the only thing that saved me was that I worked throughout the entire holiday (including Christmas Eve and New Years Eve) so I was still pretty regimented to my every day diet. When I am at home for days on end, the food choices get a little crazy!
We are surrounded by motivation these days aren’t we? Every news broadcast has plenty of weight loss recipes, workouts etc. It is the busiest time fr fitness professionals across the board. I love it for the new boost of motivation and I plan to use it until this all simmers down in about a month or two.
Other than that, I have been getting compliments from my family members and if you know my family, getting a compliment from them is like pulling teeth! So when my mom said I was “slimming nicely” I took a second and enjoyed that moment for what it was worth (exactly millions of dollars). I also took a total body class over the holiday that I hadn’t took in a year, it was easier to manage this time around so that showed that I was making gains in my endurance and that is a constant goal of mine.
Also, when I workout, my motivation is that there is only 3 months (90 days) until the big coat goes into storage! In March it starts to get decent weather wise so I keep that in the forefront of my mind when working out!
I didn’t lose the pound I wanted to by the end of the year but I did lost 0.4 pounds which I will take! The scale has been pretty steady for the past week or so, and as long as I am not gaining, I am winning.
