Prepare the brownie mix according to directions. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to fully cool. In a large mixing bowl beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until fully combined. Then fold in the whipped topping.
In a microwave safe bowl add chocolate and butter (cut butter into small cubes allowing it to melt more evenly. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, stir and then microwave in 15-second increments until chocolate and butter have melted and are smooth.
Add the melted chocolate to the cream cheese mixture and stir until fully combined.
Spread the French silk topping on the brownies and refrigerate until set, about 2-4 hours. Once brownies are set cut into squares and top with additional whipped cream and chocolate if desired.
