Weekly Wednesday Workout: Walk Out Push Ups

This week we are going a little advanced and working the entire body in one move:

I have been doing a lot of these lately between my trainer and my circuit training class and I can honestly say that I am getting better. Although I have never done the modified version, these make you work so hard after just a few. I even demonstrated them post zumba class with my students! I don’t like many moves but I do love this one–I love the flexibility of the move and I love that it gets your heart rate going real fast.

Have you/Would you ever try Walk Out Push Ups?

These are great! I used to make my clients do them the length of the floor in my studio. They are very hard…and you get a little blood rush to the head.

Truly feel like I can’t do much with my back and so envious when I see all the great exercises I am missing out on. Looks great though and sharing with my husband who has been looking for more a challenge with push ups.

Okay….the video makes it look easy—and I KNOW it’s not. She just looks so matter of fact. And if you and Allie think it’s hard….sheesh. I probably don’t stand a fighting chance!! But if I’m going to work on something, it may as well be something that works my whole body and gets my heart rate up! (and will be amusing for my dog to watch me attempt!) –Lisa

I loved these…..until last spring when I hurt my ribs and rotator cuff doing them…not fun. Now I refuse to do walk outs in fear that I’ll hear that dreaded “pop” and be in pain. Maybe one day…far away, I’ll try them again.

SERIOUSLY, this is like may favorite thing to do in Tabata classes. Members look so crazy when it’s time for these…well next to burps πŸ™‚

Alright, after seeing that video, I just had to try one…(yes, I just got up and tried it right in the middle of our family room). That move is HARD! But I think it may become part of my weekday strength routine next month. Thanks for another great move!
