There is absolutely nothing like New York City at Christmastime. I am born and raised in NYC and I still get excited every holiday season. I love Christmas in general but living here makes the season that much more merry and bright.
I was invited to see the ever popular and incredible Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall by one of the premier sponsors, Pepsi. I had the chance to bring a guest and I didn’t hesitate to bring my eldest child. This would be his first time seeing the show and as a theater and vocal student, I knew that he would enjoy every minute of the show.
We took an easy train ride into the city and got there in no time (sidebar: I actually like the subway again after hating it while pregnant). The show was set to start at 8pm, but there would be a fun VIP Press Cocktail Party for us to enjoy beforehand. Do you remember that one time that I got to workout with the Rockettes at BlogHer12? If you do, you have been rocking with me for a LONG TIME! 🙂
A (Yummy) Pre Show Reception
We went up to a fun and festive room in the building that was beautifully decorated, with plenty of Pepsi products such as Mountain Dew, Quaker and of course Diet Pepsi.
There was plenty of food too! We both ate our fill of pepper steak, garlic mashed potatoes, salad and desserts that simply would not quit. Everything was SO good!
We took some fun pictures together and even got to take photos with 2 of the Rockettes themselves! The boy was super excited to see them. 🙂

It’s been *forever* since I’ve seen the @therockettes perform at @rockcenternyc! Thank you so much @pepsi for the awesome invite as well as delicious eats! (check my stories for more of the fun!) It’s my son’s first time and I can’t wait to hear what he thinks🎄🎄😍😍 Have you seen the Radio City Christmas Spectacular?! #hosted #momsondatenight #radiocitymusichall
The Radio City Christmas Spectacular
Finally it was time for the show. I haven’t seen the show since I was Josh’s age, so it was like I was seeing it for the first time as well. Did you know there is a 3D aspect to the show? They gave us 3D glasses as we walked in and it was SO fun hearing the audience ooh and ahh for every 3D image that “jumped” out at them.
The show was phenomenal. The Rockettes were incredible, Josh turned me at one point and asked “How do they remember all of those moves?!” I honestly didn’t have an answer for him–because I was wondering the same exact thing. The graphics on the walls were so fun, the orchestra was out of this world and I was in awe while singing all of the fun Christmas carols the entire time.
Check out our vlog of the whole experience!
Even though it was late when we left, we HAD to swing around the corner to see the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. It was just as stunning as always and we took a ton of pictures before jumping on the train back to Brooklyn.
