When I think of Quaker Oats, I think of my childhood. Once my mom learned about how terrible sugary cereals were for me she made me quaker oats every single morning before school. Even when I make it for myself today I still get nostalgic whenever I smell the familiar smell of cooking oats in the air. The year before my wedding I actually ate Quaker Oats every single day and it helped a lot to help me get to goal size for the big day! Now it’s an awesome meal for me AND my family.
At the Momtrends Moms Night Out Event we had a chance to learn more about Quaker Oats Overnight Oats Recipes. By creating these super easy recipes and leaving them in a mason jar over night, boom, easy breakfast and an hour less preparation. They asked us at the event what would we do if we had one extra hour in the morning? I had a
million few things, but these three stand out the most to me.
- I’d do Yoga: I love yoga but I am nearly not as committed as I should be. If I had one extra hour in the morning I’d bend, stretch and get my OM on. This marathon training has my body tighter than ever. Even time I make a pledge to take a yoga class everything gets too crazy and I end up running more miles or taking a spin class.
- I’d Fold My Clothes: I know what you are thinking, she doesn’t fold her clothes and the answer is YES and NO. Folding my clothes on some weeks is just impossible. The dirty clothes pile between the 4 of us is just mountainous. It takes forever to separate and put them in the right place and to be quite honest it is my LEAST favorite chore. Having that extra hour would make for a lot cleaner guest room. 🙂
- I’d Read: I have absolutely no time to read anymore. Since I had kids and really starting writing full time I have not had a chance to really get into a good book. I have a few authors that I MUST get their new book when their released but like actively reading a book a week? That has died a slow death. I’d be lucky to read 4 books a year…*hangs head in shame*.
Overnight Oats are a quick, easy, delicious, breakfast 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup oats, top with your favorite ingredients, refrigerate overnight, and enjoy in the morning!
