When Is The Last Time You Had A Moms Night Out?

When is the last time you had a mom’s night out?!

The lovely ladies at Momtrends invited me out for a fun event in Soho, and it really didn’t take much convincing to put on a pretty dress, my favorite lipstick and head out on the town to hang out with my favorite NYC blogger girls.

As a part of the fun we would be spending the night getting creative and social with some of our favorite brands which included Philips Avent, Quaker, Earth’s Best, Clorox and Glad Products. But first, with every fancy NYC event you have to visit the rooftop for the incredible views, especially right after sunset when its just a little bit light outside but not quite dark enough for night.

Moms Have All The Weight On Their Shoulders

We were able to hear from Parenting Magazine about the reality of how moms are currently feeling and I have to admit, they hit the nail right on the head.

  • 60% of two parent homes have both adults working full time

  • 62% of moms do most of the dirty work

  • 1/3 share equally

  • 6% partner does it ALL (shocker)

  • Women with children under six are spending at least an hour taking detailed care of their kids daily (likely more)

  • 63% says balance is achievable

  • Top source of stress is taking care of the home–> money–> work–> relationships

  • One in five moms are stressed out about their own personal health

  • Balance is BS! 72% says that in order to feel balanced make time for your self

  • 97% feel guilty. (for example: Not putting our health first or spending too much time on the phone)

Creative Fun Stations

Avent had a really cool station where we were able to make beautiful creative baby shower gifts that featured pacifiers (including the newborn “Soothie” and the glow in the dark “Nighttime”), and bottles perfect for newborns. We even got the perfect bow to match!

Quaker had a really fun station that featured really great recipes for overnight oats! You guys know that I have loved my quaker oats since I was a kid!

Glad Products had a really awesome station where you can make your own lotion! They had us start with a plain unscented lotion and we got to add great smelling lavender, vanilla and even coconut! The new Glad trashbags have partnered with Gain to make odor blocking trash bags! (desperately needed in this household!)

Clorox had a fun and creative section that had tons of washi tape–my latest obsession thanks to my new planner–and creativity to decorate our clorox wipes! I have a ton around the house and have never thought to decorate them, mainly because I am not quite that forward thinking. 🙂 Either way I had fun using double sided tape as well as fancy paper to make my wipes pretty!

Earth’s BestWe got a chance to taste some of the organic snacks from Earth’s Best! My favorite was the mini cookies which my boys love and the organic fruit squeezes. The best part is that they are now offering those same wholesome ingredients for older kids too with their new entrees, perfect for my very hungry boys after school.

The statistics sound spot on here, too and honestly that word balance sadly still does allude me at times. As for a mom’s night out, haven’t had one in a few months, but do have one planned hopefully soon though as I agree it is important for moms to get out when they can and thanks for the reminder here today 😉

Statistics are sad but true. I haven’t had one in a while. I wanted to go to the bad boy concert but was lazy. I think that’s my problem with going out….I am to lazy to get dressed, hire a babysitter, and go somewhere.

So much to say here about how much I love Momtrends and those products. (my god – I’m so going to buy those Earth’s Best snacks and we already do have Clorox in spades)
I wish I could have gone!

I’ve only been a mom for 3 months so I don’t really count, but I have yet to have a moms night out. However, my husband and I agreed to make it a pact that one day each month I can a “just me” day so I can do the things I want – including heading to nyc for pole dancing classes

Count me in that 97% of women who feel guilty about some level of parenting. And I totally agree that balance is BS! Good to know you got to get out for a fun evening!
