Pinterest Wants New Fresh Pins
Remember back in the day when Pinterest first started? I remember it like it was just yesterday. I was up really late at night with my newborn when I first signed up. I had started my cupcake business at the time and it was a GOLD MINE for amazing recipes that I could try and make my own.
Back then, any picture worked. There wasn’t a specific size or design requirement. The smallest pins would go viral and bring in massive traffic.
Since then pins have transformed dramatically, now we have video pins for every genre and long gorgeous pins with beautiful pictures that make people want to click through to websites.
Pinterest recently announced that they would be favoring new fresh pins for blog posts and content over the pins of old that performed well. This has caused a HUGE shift in the Pinterest approach for bloggers.
So what does Pinterest mean by new pins?
Pinterest wants new designs, new images, new fonts, new writing–you get the idea. Most experts want you to create 5-10 pins per day for new and old posts. But really, who has the time to design new pins everyday?
I am the type of girl that loves to throw a picture into a previously made template, change some wording and keep it moving. Bloggers have enough on their plate, creating pins should be fun and easy!
