Today I’ve got some awesome Air Fryer Drumsticks that you can have on the dinner table in no time! Made with super simple ingredients, this recipe is great for a weeknight meal!
Can you make chicken drumsticks in the air fryer?
Yes, you can make chicken drumsticks in an air fryer. To do so, preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Toss the drumsticks with a light coating of oil and season them generously with salt and pepper.
Place the drumsticks in the basket of your air fryer, making sure that they are not overlapping. Cook for 15 minutes, then flip the drumsticks and cook them for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Serve with BBQ sauce!
What are some fun variations to air fryer chicken drumsticks?
Try experimenting with different spices and seasonings when air frying chicken drumsticks. Some fun variations include jerk seasoning, garlic-herb seasoning, paprika, chili powder or a combination of your favorite spices.
You can also make honey-garlic drumsticks, by brushing them with a mixture of melted butter, honey and minced garlic before air frying. If you’re feeling adventurous, try air frying the drumsticks with a sticky glaze of honey, soy sauce and sesame oil. The possibilities are endless!
What do you serve these air fryer chicken drumsticks with?
The options are endless! Try serving them with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, a side salad or your favorite grain.
If you’re feeling creative, try baking some sweet potato wedges in the air fryer for a delicious and nutritious accompaniment to the chicken drumsticks. You can also serve these drumsticks with creamy dips such as ranch dressing or honey-mustard.
What are some helpful tips for making air fryer drumsticks?
When prepping the drumsticks, make sure that they are completely dry before you season them with oil and spices. This will help ensure that the coating sticks to the chicken instead of staying in the basket of your air fryer.
Additionally, try not to overcrowd the basket as this can cause the drumsticks to steam rather than crisp up nicely. It’s also important to keep an eye on the drumsticks during cooking, as air fryers can cook quickly and you don’t want them to burn.
Finally, make sure that the drumsticks are cooked through (by making sure the temperature is at least 165F) before serving, as raw chicken can cause food poisoning.
