When the opportunity arose to attend the Baby Magic event in the city, I knew right away I had to make a decision. I needed to figure out whether I would ask my mom to babysit my 4 month old baby girl or if I would take charge of my anxiety when it comes to leaving the house, and take her with me, on my own. Prior to this the furthest we have been solo is 4 blocks up to the deli and back. Getting on the train, navigating the city would be brand new terrain for us. Since 2019 is the year of quieting the doubtful voices, I decided to go. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made.
The Iconic Baby Magic Brand
We were there to celebrate the amazing line of Baby Magic products. Can you believe that Baby Magic has been around since 1951? Such amazing staying power for such an iconic brand! In 2019, they are bringing us a brand new updated and refreshed line of products and we all got to check them out during the event.
“Baby Magic’s 2019 lineup features a comprehensive collection of baby skincare items under the umbrella of three standout scents – Original Baby, Sweet Buttercup and Lavender Lullaby. Additionally, the brand is rolling out innovative new treatment items including a first-of-its-kind Hydrogel Multi-Purpose Patch that cools and soothes skin suffering from ailments like dryness, sunburn, fever and more. For normal to dry skin, the Original Baby line will feature the same nostalgic baby scent parents have loved for generations, with standout ingredients like Camellia Oil and Marshmallow Root to hydrate and soothe skin.”
Some of the new Baby Magic products include:
- Original Baby Line: Cleansing Gel, Baby Lotion, Creamy Baby Oil
- Sweet Buttercup Line: 2-in-1 Wash, Moisturizing Lotion
- Lavender Lullaby: Calming Bath, Calming Lotion
Knowing so much about products and ingredients — things I DIDN’T think quite so hard about with my first two children, I am happy to hear that the Baby Magic team updated their products to not have any sulfates, mineral oil, dyes, parabens, phthalates, talc and lanolin. The products still have the classic smell and I love the packaging too.
Baby girl’s first event
We managed to get to the event on time, despite rush hour and some other minor hiccups. Once we got there she woke up and was gazing around to figure out exactly where she was. She received a very warm welcome from everyone and was pretty chill the entire event! She even got to meet a bunny for the first time, as bunnies are now the official mascot for Baby Magic! They were so adorable.
We even got to make some beautiful flowers at the flower station with Alice’s Table, which was SO nice because I haven’t been able to go out and get fresh flowers for the house in forever!
Baby Magic Sleep Expert
We also got to hang out with renowned baby comfort expert, Carolynne Harvey, author of Dream Baby Nights – as she is Baby Magic brand ambassador. She was available for tips and tricks on the topic of baby sleep habits and comfort routines. I made a beeline to her because as cute as my baby girl is, there is NOTHING consistent about her sleep pattern. She gave me some fantastic advice, and she helped me to really re-think the naps that she takes during the day, as well as adjusting her very late bedtime. I was SO happy to chat with her because I was going around in circles with some days getting ALL the sleep and some days taping my eye lids open. Her advice was right on time!
Overall we really had a fantastic time. Baby was super chill, I was able to feed her, change her and hang out with her with no issue at all. Looks like I’ll be traveling a lot more solo with baby as the weather starts to get warmer!
