2016 Annual Holiday Toy Gift Guide: 20 Amazing Toys For Every Budget

It’s that time of the year again!

I’ll be completely honest here. The minute the weather begins to change and Halloween is over, I begin itching to to put my tree up and put up Christmas lights. I am THAT person that watches Elf year round, plans her Christmas Cookie Baking List, and thinks Love Actually is really one of the best movies ever in the world (it really is).

I also believe in getting the best of the best for the kids when it comes to toys/games/activities. My mom spoiled me growing up, not with a LOT of gifts, but some really super high quality gifts. I want to make sure that you have the best list for your kids and the kids in your life! This year I am separating the categories by interest to make it easier.

Arts & Crafts

Super Strings Lanterns – If you have a 12 year old+ on your list that loves arts and crafts, this gift is a super cool DIY that will step up their room decor!

Step2 Jumbo Art Easel – If you have a little artist in your house like I do, then you need to have an easel! I especially like this one because it keeps all the tools organized and there is even a space for coloring books! Great from ages 3-8.

K’NEX Thrill Rides – 3-in-1 Classic Amusement Park Building Set – How cool is this amusement kit? Perfect for the 7yo+ in your life that love to build!

Qixels S3 3D Maker – Kids can make three dimensional figures with pixels! Build up your design and brush with water and they magically stick together, perfect for kids 3 and up.
3Doodler Start Essentials Pen Set + Multishape DoodleBlock – This is another super popular toy this season! With the new 3Doodler Start your creative kids can finally bring all of their wonderful and imaginative ideas to life in 3D. This kid-safe 3D printing pen melts plastic that cools and hardens rapidly, allowing kids to literally draw in the air!

Tech

Spin Master Hatchimals – Apparently these are the hottest toys on the market right now, and I can see why! They start as eggs and over time they hatch! After they hatch you can teach the animals how to dance and play games. This is taking toys to the NEXT LEVEL!

Cozmo – Speaking of robotic toys, Cozmo is another big one this season. “Cozmo doesn’t just move; he gets curious and explores. He doesn’t just learn; he plots and plans. He doesn’t just see you; he gets to know you. So call him self-aware, call him almost human. Just don’t call him a toy. He’s a supercomputer on treads. And he’s fun on a whole new level.”

SELFIE MIC Music Set – For the tween in your life that loves to sing, this little stocking stuffer is so perfect. I mean, 3 million licensed songs AND a selfie stick?! It doesn’t get any better!

Zoomer Chimp, by Spin Master – I love the Zoomer series by Spin Master! He rolls, flips, move on all fours, and stands all on his own, you can even get him to follow you! There was a reason why he was so popular at Toy Fair 2016.

Barbie Star Light Adventure Flying Hoverboard – When I saw this featured at the Time To Play Magazine event last month, I fell in love immediately! First her outfit is the BEST and she’s flying.

Educational

Kids First Science Laboratory Kit – Designed for pre schoolers and kindergarteners this is a really cool kit for an early introduction science. It includes 24 tools, a 16 page full-color parent guide and 10 illustrated experiment cards.
LeapFrog LeapStart Interactive Learning System – I am a huge fan of the LeapStart for ages 4-6 as there are so many fun books great for STEM and STEAM learning! I wrote a full review here.

HEXBUG VEX IQ Robotics Construction Set – If you have a kid in your life that is into robotics, they will love this guy! You can actually customize your robot with a variety of sensors including color, bumper switch, touch LED and other built in rotational sensors on the motors.

Disney Fun

Moana Disney’s Singing Moana Adventure Doll – If you have seen the movie and loved it just as much as we did, then you likely LOVE the soundtrack as well! This awesome Moana doll has a light up necklace and sings the popular song from the movie, “How Far I’ll Go”.

Disney Lion Guard Figures – We (mainly me and the little guy) love the Lion Guard in this house. This is a cute 5 piece action set that any fan will love!

Mattel Disney Princess Magiclip Dolls – For the Disney Princess lover in your family, you can’t go wrong with this set–it has 6 figures of classic Disney princesses PLUS the infamous Elsa and Anna!

Disney/Pixar Cars Mack Truck and Transporter – This is definitely on my wish list for my car obsessed 4 year old. Parked and open, he features multiple play areas: big screen TV lounge with Lightning McQueen’s trophies, car washing area, a working lift, a viewing deck and a gas pump. That should keep him busy for hours.

Those Hatchimals are indeed the popular toy of this holiday season. When I was at Target this past weekend a lady asked one of the workers about it and he said they get like 3 every few days in and they are claimed pretty much even before they are unloaded of the truck. Crazy, but like you can see why as they sound pretty amazing! Great list and a few of these are on my girls’ lists, as well 😉

We’re all in for Disney stuff – Lion Guard and Moana. The kids saw it last week! Also I deeply want a Hatchimal but for ME! My kids don’t know what they are.. yet. They’re so cool!
